Forbes article - some interesting points

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/03/25/destiny-stats-remind-us-just-how-casual-the-playerbase-really-is/ Some interesting points there. The limbo of 20 to 26 levels is true but I never really noticed how few of those who installed the game actually got to have an exotic equipped or get a full legendary set of armor. Interesting that, from what it seems, only roughly 20 to 30% of players who installed the game in ps4 actually dedicated time to the game. These are the only ones who grinded for the exotics and legendaries. That tried to complete the raid. Why do you think it is? Is the grind too much or badly structured? Is the content too little and repetitive?

From the Forbes article taken from Redditor btg7471:
Only 31.1% of Guardians have equipped a piece of Exotic gear. Only 23.8% of Guardians have worn Legendary/Exotic armor in every slot. Only 24.2% of Guardians have earned max Vanguard marks in a week, while just 16% have maxed their Crucible marks in a week. Only 23.1% of Guardians have reached rank 3 with the Vanguard. Only 19.2% of Guardians have completed a Raid. Only 16.9% of Guardians have maxed out a Warlock or Hunter subclass, and just 15.2% have maxed out a Titan subclass.
This makes me me think of my 10 year old nephew. He reached level 23 and never tried Vault of Glass, but he's happy because he "beat the game already". I'm so jealous of him. Part of the problem is the lack of in-game explanation of how to earn marks and obtain gear from vendors. Or more importantly, why players' should bother. And we all know players who quit "Destiny" out of frustration and never looked back. The 19.2% raid completion is better than the 17% back in January and the 15% back in November. The big conclusion is that if Bungie wants to make "Destiny 2" a success, they have to engage the other 80% of players.
