In the exact same update that you mention that fusion rifles are underused you nerf them. Seriously why are you doing this?
I know some people out there prefer the other two kinds of secondary weapons but some of us Bungie really like our fusion rifles. After I got my Mythoclast I tried my best to create the best secondary fusion rifle to get it and when I got my Eldar Cipher I skipped past the Lord of Wolves (which is getting a sweet buff next update) and grabbed for myself a Queenbreaker's bow (which could probably use a PvE buff). Now it seems like all those effects and time I spent on getting/reforging these weapons will all be in vain.
Why couldn't you at least give fusion rifles a PvE buff so they could see some use?
I feel really sad now and I wish I had made some different choices (like a Lord of Wolves instead of a weak fusion-sniper rifle that is basically getting nerfed soon). T_T

Modifié par SketchSkirmish : 7/20/2015 4:48:44 PMFusion rifles used to be a problem in the crucible. Their ability to deal damage equal to shotguns at mid range engagements was brutal. This should be offset by charge rate and stability. Fusions should either have a fast charge and low stability or slow charge and high stability. The damage they deal could certainly use a similar increase in PvE as the shotguns saw. At present, they do not see my inventory at all unless dealing with shields on nightfall. Another compromise would be to lower overall damage, but permit crits to proc on headshots while ADS. I've always found their lack of crits upsetting. A laser to the face would be just as devastating as a bullet (in theory). Fusion rifles are currently broken and the current preview for changes doesn't seem to address that in full. If anything, the difficulty in balancing them is attributed to their lack of real world comparison. However, nerf the hell out of the Felwinter Sniper and other High-Range/High-Impact shotties. For christ's sake, some of those kills are unbelievable. Give that kind of range to the Universal Remote, but quit that on the legendaries, for the love of god.

Modifié par RavenousLD3341 : 7/20/2015 10:34:15 AMI feel your pain. Fusion rifles are at the very bottom of my weapon list. I carry a couple, and only pull them if i need an element i wasn't planning on using. For example. The nightfall this week. Harpys have arc shields. Ugh, had to break out my worthless servant of aksor. Used it to break shields, then back to my primary to actually kill them. I really love my queen breaker's bow. If this fusion rifle nerf beaks that gun, it will be a very sad day.

This is one of the most baffling nerfs. I used the ToO fusion in crucible, and it could only manage a two shot kill. I believe bungie had a meeting over nerfing thorn, and just said "-blam!- it, nerf every thing"
-
Someone tried using one on me today, it kind of tickled.
-
Is the vex included in this nerf please don't include it
-
If bungie nerfs these even more thats just dumb. Theyre underused and underpowered as is.
-
Bungie needs to explain this particular nerf. Can we see a graph of fusion rifle use like the Gjallarhorn graph? Because I bet it's lower than sidearms. A barely used underpowered weapon does NOT need a nerf to range. As it is, their effective range is so small that you may as well equip a shotgun and step 3 steps closer for the same result minus a charge time.

I remember my first legendary fusion rifle. I still have it. I suddenly was able to tear up the crucible with it, and it was a BLAST. It's the most fun I've ever had shooting a gun in this game. The last weapon balance patch nerfed my precious precision fusion rifles more than I thought necessary. Of course, I'm incredibly biased and would love to have all fusion rifles blast fools away from across the map. There's got to be a better happy medium, though. Fusion rifles all ready haven't felt the same since the last nerf. Now there's more nerf on the horizon? C'mon Bungie. And what's with these short range quick charge fusion rifles they talked about? How can I care about them when I've felt the exquisite joy from a super slow charge super high impact goddamn mac cannon of a fusion rifle. Probably, my true desires for pvp fusion rifle madness will never again be attainable. However, the original post is right. At least bring back that feeling I had from blowing away minotaurs like they were tissue paper. If fusion rifles still have to wing around nerf darts like puddy in PvP, at least give us a real buff for PvE.
-
But my 2 pratorian foils :,(
-
Isn't it supposed to be more effective at close ranges after the update? I think they want to buff it but not make it a ranged weapon like it was a couple versions ago.
-
Stop weapon nerf period...!
-
No one can be sure what was meant by their changes to Fusion rifles, they mention buffing and nerfing based on the criteria of charge rates. This is entirely subjective, wait and see what the results are before you post feedback that could be completely incorrect and in doing so mislead other players.

I love my snakebite surgeon and I used to embarrass people with plan c. Stopped using plan c for no land but yes they really didn't need it. Oh well

Modifié par Bluefoxx3 : 7/21/2015 5:56:25 AMYa, I got a Mythoclast long after it got nerfed and when fusion rifles had their nerf as well. That thing is incredibly weak in PvE and never bothered with it in PvP. It's not even the greatest during Solar Burn when VoC outperforms it. I pretty much never use fusion rifles to begin with, why nerf what's not being used?
-
Okay, you ready for this?
They want to ruin the game.
-
I've seen fusion rifles used like 4 times since HoW dropped and all of those were in crucible. Nerfing them was absolutely pointless. In the same patch that they're nerfing our favorite snipers because people were just sitting back and firing from a safe distance they're also nerfing shotguns and fusion rifles.
-
Guess my "Plan C" is really a "Plan X, Y or Z" to Bungie now.
-
The bungie guys got killed 5 times in a game by fusion rifles so they gave themselves blowjobs and nerfed in general after he rage quit and decided to make people stop using it.
-
-
They are fixing all the pain that was caused by Fusion Rifles before crucible became all shotguns
-
-
-
I completely agree. Murmur is nice because it can switch, and I finally got Plan C, which actually can be used from more than 2 feet away. But otherwise, they are worthless. Don't they say fusion rifles are supposed to be mid-range weapons? A little longer than shotgun but shorter than sniper? Then why the crap are they being effectively turned into pathetic shotgun wannabees?
-
Fusion rifle nerf is not needed. Fusion rifles are not that hood now so that makes no sense to nerf them.
-
THIS. Is the only fix I don't quite understand
