You can carry enough weapons to supply a small army in your 'backpack', but you lose bullets each time you swap weapons ?!??!
I know game logic is awkward sometimes, but Bungie managed to get this shit to another level of stupidness.
TELL ME BUNGIE !!!
If I have 2 shotguns in my backpack, and 10 shotgun cells, why do I lose 50% of my bullets when swapping my shotguns between each other ?!!
Your faulty logic from day one of Destiny was that we should think about the weapons we bring in a fight.
But now it's not the Destiny from 1 year ago. We have all weapons.
If I feel like I don't want to use my Gally anymore and I have 6 rockets, IT IS NOT reasonable to get only 3 rockets when I equip the other launcher !!!
I can use an ammo pack to get my bullets back. So?!?
Its only an inconvenience!!!
Get 5 min cooldown...I understand.
But losing bullets at weapon swap is beyond stupid in ANY video game out there.
This shitty mechanic has to go.
The synth shared cooldown has to go.
Quality of life improvement.

Well the thing is a small feral rabbit lives in your backpack as well, and each time you switch guns it eats some of your ammo.

PS: Potato*[/quote] There are more factors to take into consideration, like damage output per round and the individual ammo capacities of each gun. If you're using say, a green shotgun, and you switch to a legendary or exotic, if you don't lose any ammo you're gonna be dealing alot more damage than with the green, so in that aspect it makes sense to lose some ammo. And also even if you switch from a green to another green maybe the second one has better all around stats. It's a balancing measure and it also was probably put in to keep people from constantly switching between legendaries and exotics on a whim and being super op. Like the devs said, plan which weapons you wanna take to the field so you don't have to keep switching weapons and can keep your ammo. Or another option is to just suck it up cause ammo drops are pretty frequent.
-
Well actually it kinda makes a bit of sense, if you have 2 shotguns that hold 5 shells each and you have 20 shells in total. You choose to use one shotgun and you load it with 5 shells which puts your reserves down to 15 and then you decide to switch shotguns to the other one and then load that with 5 shells your reserves have now gone down to 10... As far as I know, if you then switch back to the original shotgun it shouldn't take anything from your reserves because it was already loaded. Make sense?
-
The whole weapon handling thing is a fraking mess. What they should do is have a weapon selection button that brings up a Stick selection of 8 ready weapons. What we do now is switch weapons anyway, after taking FOREVER for our weapons inventory to load, then wait another forever for inventory to load so we can use an ammo consumable, all while hoping we don't die.
-
I bump this because I can.
-
I think some loss is acceptable. Though I think they dialed it down a bit. However now we all have infinite heavy sooooo.....
-
DeeJ or Luke Smith specifically referenced swapping weapons to adapt to different elemental shields. How can we swap if ammo disappears like it does? Imbeciles.
-
I agree you should not loose ammo IF you switch to a weapon of the SAME type. It defies logic. It's one thing to loose Ammo when you switch from Shotgun to Sniper, or Rocket Launcher to Machine Gun, but Shotgun to Shotgun, Launcher to Launcher, Sniper to Sniper make no sense.

Modifié par WoundedBdgr0317 : 9/14/2015 3:58:35 AMBeen complaining about this all year. Even if I don't switch weapons I just lose ammo going to and from zones, orbit, or tower and reef. Old Badger,
-
Swapping to the same weapon type should not lose ammo. Going from shot gun to sniper is fine by me to lose ammo though.
-
So... don't switch. It's stuid I know, but I pick what I want when you're flying to map, and when I'm out of ammo, I switch. And then to get scientific with it, I doubt a FIM-92 Stinger could shoot an AT-4 rocket, you know what I'm saying?
-
So, you want sniper rounds to work in a fusion rifle? Even in a game as far fetched as Destiny, that's asking a bit much.
-
if they keep doing this they could at least grant us glimmer or some sort of consumable
-
Modifié par Moonman : 9/14/2015 9:21:51 PMSwap while you're dead. You loose little to no ammo at all.
-
I agree. Switch rocket launchers = losing 5 rockets = makes no sense.
-
Modifié par Benzene21 : 9/14/2015 1:45:52 AMyep. and in pvp is worse. you lose ALL ammo when you swap a different special weapon type.
-
Long story short, you should NOT lose ammo in ANY game just because of swapping weapons in the same slot. The bullets do not just simply disappear in thin air !!!
-
-
I agree. I much preferred the way borderlands did it. You carried ammo for each weapon class (assault rifle, smg, pistol, shotgun, etc.). If you flat out ran out of ammo, you just switched to one you had ammo for. And for those saying "durr how do sniper bullets work for fusion rifle?!", well I dunno, but they apparently do since any green ammo box gives you ammo for any special weapon.
-
You can use shotgun ammo with a sniper rifle
-
Because you have 10 for THAT shotgun, not another
-
Half of it is in your first shotgun. Lmao
-
There's nothing wrong with the mechanics of this... it's mainly for pve. they should consider a disable for pvp.
-
Whatever you do, do not use a synth when you are in a ship on your way to a mission/raid etc you use the synth, get a 5 minute cool down but the ammo will not be replenished upon entering the area
-
Different guns use different ammo. Even shotguns could be different.
