I was a day 1 guardian, collectors/ghost edition, riding in on the gamestop sparrow of destiny and felt like i was the king of the world. But now, it feels like my first year of destiny was nothing but a blank dream. The hours i spent, the friendships i lost and regained as we dove deep into venus and took down the god of time, feel like they are nothing more then a memory, lost in time. We fought for our armor, we fought for our weapons, we fought so our number would become 30, but now, all it is is a number and nothing more. And of what of crota, when i watched the cutscenes play, of how crotas death was the begining of our end, what is crota to a new player who starts today. Do they experience the hell i went through with my fireteam, do they experience the Song of death that plays as your team cries to take down that final orbiting death ball, to break the walls to kill the singer herself. No, they do not, as the raid to them will be nothing more than a nonexsistant stepping stone, to only sit there and succumb to the inevitible waste of empty space. What of the wolves, they might find a place in this world, but not for much longer, as they were the key to unlock the 3 exotics those that bountied for them aquired. But what then i ask you all. The armor you obtain means nothing, the cloak you obtain means nothing, everything that place used to be means nothing besides another way to get reputation. So what do those that paved the Way for BUNGIE'S future, what do we get that will soldifiy us in this realm of existance. A sparrow, which has less speed and durability then those from the raids we fought through A shader, one that makes those that drove themselves mad for reputation for a dead man would love to aquire an emblem, to dignify that we stood first upon this hallowed ground and we fought through everything to get where we are today (or simply mad leveled during the final weeks and got both DLC, because hey, your a veteran if you only started playing a week ago) An exotic engram, which turned into a monte carlo for me, year 1 edition, so i must now gather the marks to get its damage to match others of its kinds And a ghost, a worthless ghost as its defense doesnt even compare to the ones that stand within the vanguard, waiting for the try hards to dive into the world and obtain the marks required to purchase them As i stood, with my new subclass in hand, i made a vow to myself, I will not wear the gear they give us, so halfheartedly, That they force it down our throats as if we didnt deserve better! I will only equip my weapons that i have obtained from Year 1, and if i happen to find an exotic that crosses over one of my old ones, then i will keep it and use it! I will use the classes they have given me, as it seems that this class should have been here since year 1! I will play your new strikes because i have no other choice in this matter to obtain what time has taken from me! AND I will wait until the day that those at bungie see the error of their ways and allow those of year 1 to ascend the gear we worked so hard to obtain like the current gear we see today, by scrapping one of the new pieces to boost the rarity of the old, that is my vow upon this forum!. So Bungie, let me remind you of something that you may have forgotten as all the money falls upon your lap, You can not take over a world, if you only look ahead, because those that you tread upon to build your path will soon come back to drag you down into the darkness, and make you realize the error of your ways, as the bank calls to tell you that your through. To fix all this: +Allow year one players to ascend their gear to year 2, ignoring the etheric light and simply allow us to sacrifice the guns you give us to make our old guns better +Up the rarity of the veteran items so we feel like they have a purpose in this world instead of simply sitting in the background, never to be touched + I understand about the Gally, but in all honesty, reduce the number of wolfpack rounds, reduce their damage, or something along those lines could easily fix your simple "mistake" and not just send a gun that everyone cared for into the trash Thats all i have to say
