I don't care how anyone feels about Sunsetting/Vaulting that argument has been done to death on these forums. That being said Bungie is doing something right now that I think is almost criminal if I'm being honest. I'm not saying it is criminal, I'm just saying if you're a company that is trying to do everything right by your customer this is definitely not something you would do. So I get that Shadowkeep and Forsaken aren't being vaulted as far as their content goes and honestly for the rest of my post I don't really care about Shadowkeep as I don't really think anyone thought or thinks that it was being vaulted with it only being a year old. That being said Forsaken is now 2 years old and with everything that I've heard they are going to be making all it's content free to play after the release of BL. If that is the case then what they are doing with the current sale going on (at least in the PS store) is misleading at best.
They have both the Upgrade Edition and regular Forsaken up for a fresh sale with only a month or two to go until the next expansion to come out that would make that content free (most likely). Not only that but the sale that they have going is not any better than any sale they have ever done on either one of those. The fact that Forsaken has never been priced cheaper than $14.99 in the entire time it's been out and it went on sale for $14.99 not long after it came out is ridiculous. That DLC should be $9.99, especially since they've already made parts of what was originally in the package that cost the full price free when they made the game F2P to begin with. Same goes for the upgrade edition, 33% for the upgrade edition right before the release of a DLC that is going to make it obsolete is ripping people off.
I mean it's also that both store pages make no reference to the fact the content is being vaulted like you get when you come to this site is also a problem and one of the bigger reason I made this post. When you combine the fact they are charging people who don't know better as if nothing was happening and then putting no mention of it so that they won't notice that is not okay.
I get that there are going to be the Bungie defenders that swoop in and say that people could just Google it or that they should know better and it's their fault if they buy something without researching but the entire reason companies do sales like this is to take advantage of people's susceptability towards impulse purchases. Someone going through the PS Store page for the "Essential Picks Sale" which Bungie got this included in is just seeing this along all the other greats of the PS4 like Spiderman, Dreams, and God of War, and just says, "well there is a new DLC coming out and I've always wanted to try that game so I better get ready for it" or maybe they are a lapsed player that hasn't paid attention. Either way they are gonna be pretty pissed if they find out had they just waited 2 months they could've gotten that content for free.

You're absolutely right that they shouldn't be selling the forsaken expansion since most of that sh.it got gutted and given away for free. It's not worth 15 dollars, that's for damn sure. This is Bungie we're talking about though. It's been very clear for a long time that they just want to be cryptic and make as much money as possible while doing it. This is par for the course. Fu.ck them.
