Thunderlord needs some love. LMGs got a nice big buff this season but the very first Exotic has been languishing for so long and need something special to shine again especially with the return Gjallarhorn. To that end I've given a long thought on the subject and have come up with the proposal below, feel free to give your own input or your own TL catalyst ideas. Tldr: -Increased mag size & ammo reserves -A high risk/high reward precision hit based/activated mechanic that adds/refunds rounds back or links the magazine directly to the reserves The long version: A previous TWAB from this year aptly stated that players use LMGs for crowd control first and sustained DPS second. With that in mind, the Lightning Rounds perk gives Thunderlord the potential to excel in the latter and even outshine the boss killing meta through sheer increasing rate of fire. So to achieve this a means of feeding more rounds into the mag is necessary. Buffing the base mag capacity and reserve ammo is a necessary good starting point but much like Izanagi's Burden, it needs a powerful but risky mechanic to do the aforementioned and really shine. What I came up with as a balanced mechanic is the Thunderlord catalyst needs a perk activated by successful precision hits much like Fourth Times the Charm. Still working on the specifics but the general idea is the player would have to land a high number/percentile of successive precision hits to activate the mechanic. Hard to do, but with a great reward being either adding rounds back into the magazine from reserves or even crazier just fusing the magazine with the reserves for a short duration effectively allowing the player to out DPS other meta boss killers though sheer speed and volume rather than raw damage.
