When I heard about the campaign to help new lights, I found myself looking at my vault for some old weapons and armor I had stashed away. As a hunter who joined in forsaken, I had quite the selection, and had seen the meta change from time and time again. But any weapon that caught my eye or had served me well was not dismantled, except for three. The three gambit pinnacles I had dismantled because I figured I could always get them back from collections. Get them back I did. I don't like pvp...doesn't help that I'm no good. But gambit clicked in my brain. It made sense...and those pinnacle and ritual weapons were proof that not only did I enjoy gambit, but I had a decent amount of skill in it.
Regardless, I found my old gambit armor, put on the pinnacle/ritual weapons I had come to earn (Exit strategy, python, and 21% delirium), and decided I would go for a few round of dares to rescue the new lights. Managed to find a few and switched the armor but not the weapons. I'm glad that even at 1100 light the weapons still work...and work as I remember them. They were designed with a no reload, weapon swap, get in there get dirty mentality. A shotgun that never needed to be reloaded and hit like a truck, an SMG designed around being in such tight quarters that it makes the enemy use a safe word before it does, and an LMG that cascades bullets on whoever was unlucky to be standing in front of it...and kept chewing away as long as it was fed. It was fun going back to these weapons, and watching the new lights stumble through these encounters. It was fun guiding them, and being the 'guardian' not only for the light, but for them. But most importantly, it was fun just going to town with these old weapons that even after I had dismantled them, even after I had forsaken them and left them, answered my call when others needed them. When I did. I know they were pinnacles and rituals meant to be the top of their class, but they were MY pinnacles, when I was too scared to step into the crucible, when I was too low light and too friendless for raids. When I played through Zavala's strikes so much that I could tell HIM the operation names and who would be running tactical. I'm sad that they got axed, and I'm sorry they will never come back. They served me well, even if they were never the meta. Using them one last time, brought back such nostalgia and sweatiness I hadn't had since I stepped foot into gambit. I'm glad for one last opportunity, and I'll definitely be keeping them in my vault as long as I can. I'm ready to move on, and am prepared to never touch these guns again...but I hope when witch queen drops that I may one day be reunited with these weapons one last time, perhaps in a reincarnated fashion. Thank you, bungie for not autodeleting them, even if they still serve no purpose outside of very specific events now. Until witch queen, I'm going to spend a bit more time with these old friends, and maybe show the new lights an echo of the past so they can keep looking forwards to the future.
TLDR: Look in your old vault and use some of your old gear you may have hidden away. Rescue a few new lights with them...give them one last goodbye.

I feel sick when I see a new light in the tower, why would I try and search for them in the activities?!?! Gross 🤮

You really need lessons in writing forum posts because there's not a single person going to even get past the second sentence of that wall of text.
