"We’re not making a space sim where you're flying through the stars" - Bungie
So apparently (from this statement, not 100% but pretty close), space flight is off the cards and will be restricted to just fast travel between planets. Although I had my doubts about this being in the game, this is kind of disappointing for quite a few people, and even me as I thought they did space combat quite well in Reach, and thought maybe there would be maybe a percentage chance (maybe %10) you would be attacked by some alien ships while fast travelling and have to defeat them before reaching your destination.
Are you guys disappointed by this? Thoughts?

Been known for a real long time.

I think I'm one of the only people who didn't care if this happened or not. To make a game as vast as Bungie is making this game seem, they were going to have to skip out on certain stuff. They wanted this game to be first and foremost an FPS and that's what they're doing. There's always the possibility of it being a thing in a future game, I'm sure they wanted to lay a ton of ground work into the first game of the series.

I'm hoping that when Bungie doesn't give us one thing, they make up for it with everything else. As long as the game isn't entirely made out of physics-based cloth, I think we should expect a pretty big experience, even without space battles.

I was really hoping there would be some space dogfights, especially because of this artwork. That said, I'm rather okay with it. Destiny is looking really good just from what we've seen, and there's certainly more to come. I hope we at least get some reach falcon style aircraft that encourages teamwork

Modifié par Melubz : 10/31/2013 11:50:45 PMI believe the main content is related to fps sci-fi.. flying is dangerous while drinking, beers, right! haha.. Fps is the main reason I order Destiny instead of BF4, because I was bored of BF3, but I might get BF4 too while waiting on beta, hehe.

Think of it this way. This is only Destiny 1. We could actually have it implemented on some scale in other later releases.

I am disappointed I was really hoping for this to go through :(
