Gambit is getting worse

Did 2 rounds for this week but I quit before the 2nd one ended. It is definitely getting worse in the gameplay. Before I left, I have seen 1 already left, 1 stopped playing and and thus only 2 (incl. me ) were active. I know everyone wants to win , but just be to fair and honest , how could you conquest while your team is in such inactive mode? There is no back up when people were left and I can't request replacement during the game. And the opp. team mates always using the same powerful Sleeper over and over. It is not just happened to my previous rounds but to all gambits during this month. I have noticed the hand cannons , rifiles, submachine guns etc are no longer powerful. I have seen my Better Devil that pwr = 600 just made a yellow -20 on a normal Hive? What is the original aim of introducing gambit ? The feeling is getting worse, seriously, it is going far from its original design introduced during beta. I have been teamed with quitters, zombies, or people are just trying very hard to hope for a game that would won . There is nothing left that makes me to believe I would go further in gambit.

    Gambit is Bungie taking all the mechanics players hate the most and shoving then into 1 mode. Here’s how the discussion went at HQ. “Team, what should we put in Gambit?” “Let’s make everything a bullet sponge.” “And give most enemies a stomp mechanic.” “And have zero cool down on that stomp mechanic.” “And let players invade the other side and give them insane advantages like an over shield and the ability to see the other players.” “Plus the ability to see the number of motes they have displayed above their head.” “Make sure power spawns in every 30 seconds.” “Also, let’s add in catchup mechanics to draw out longer matches.” “How about we give it the same shitty MM that Crucible has?” “You mean the MM that pits randoms against stacks?” “Yeah.” “Ohh, and lets tie a quest to it that has a boss spawn rate of 0.0001%.” “Anything else?” “How about a map that has a small pit in the middle that kills you in 2 feet of water?” “Nailed it!”

  • Yes gambit is broken. I played and we had our primeval enemy up and life down and before I knew it the other team kill their primeval. It was crazy. It happens third time. Invaders don’t need any shields but if they do our enemies must acknowledge the invader and also attack. I notice no indication where is the invader.

    • It’s effectively PvP in a mainly pve game mode, that’s why you feel weak. Pvp weapon balancing is used, I believe it says it on the description of the game mode.

    • One of my biggest complaints about is ammo. In one round ammo can drop like candy, in the next nothing drops. In the latter round your already at s disadvantage just from a ammo stand point.

      • Been playing gambit since it dropped and it feels to me the last two weeks or so, guardians have taken a silent nerf or maybe the enemies have been buffed. Anyone else notice this? When it first dropped I seemed to be ploughing through adds, now first phase adds can tear me up.

        • This is what happens when Bungie forces people to play [i]everything[/i] in order to progress. You get people playing who dont want to be there. So they ruin the experience for everyone else.

        • I thought Gambit was alright at first but now I’m sick of it: - Matches are too long (should be one round only) - Stupid catch up mechanics - Bullet sponge enemies - Teams against solo players - People doing bounties and not trying to win - AFKers

          • I only play now for the milestone - only the single one. I can't play 3 games in a row. Not worth it.

          • It's not just gambit, it's the whole game. The problem is that 600 power is just a number and means shit. Let's take gambit through your progression. At 450 it took 4 body shots to down a Vandal, this has not changed all the way up to 600, still 4 shots. Unlike a lot of good power progression games where you would kill them quicker and be able to take more damage, bungo ramps up the enemies with you so you are never a powerful god slayer like you should be, you are about 10 power above any enemies you face. This has been the same from 300 all the way up. I am definitely not twice as powerful as I was, Minotaurs still smash me with 3 hits at 600 as they did at 300. Bungo don't like guardians being powerful, they should let us dominate enemies when we have ground out max power but they don't. Sad little company, play their way, but it's getting boring fast

              I just hate how lopsided the lobbies are. I haven't played the gamemode all that much but that is something I'm just sick of. That and how long the matches are. Extend each round and cut it down to 1 round.

            • Did another gambit today with friends, come in 2 , disappointed again . 4 vs 4 , but the opp team is a complete clan . A sleeper there also . Somehow I wondered whether some players are cheating, their aiming is so good and almost flawless. And the reserve ... how many shoot can a sleeper hold now ?

              • The problem is all those bounties and quests that require players to do gambit. If they were somewhere else, gambit wouldn't have that many afks.

                • I nerfed myself back to pwr 10 from putting back all damaged Red War gears and then joined a gambit this morning. In the game my team lost to a clan team but I still managed to kill 1 invader (pwr >580) using my damaged Traveler Choosen (pwr =10). I don't know how I could draw a convulsion about this. It is like if you are under-powered then this gambit will buff you up, while you are too strong when you will get nerfed . However some weapons are not being counted in.

                  • It was fun at first, now I only go when there's a Challenge for a Powerful Engram, and/or a weekly bounty to complete. Once again, players find a way to ruin the fun, and Bungie's too incompetent to come up with a solution, even when we throw suggestions their way. Crucible is more enjoyable than Gambit at this point.

                  • Bosses are dying WAY too quick. You should not be able to instantly kill a primeevil. You just shouldn't. There is no point in invading anymore unless you invade as soon as you can to stop teams from nuking the boss.

                    As long as comeback mechanics exist in Gambit, the game mode will only decline. You'll find that most players do not enjoy getting fked over by hidden mechanics just for the sake of "keeping it competitive" and if players aren't enjoying the game mode, they are going to go out of their way to just get "it" done. Whether "it" is their daily bounties, the Malfeasance boss, or knocking out a challenge, they don't care about the game itself because the harder they try and the better they do, the more the game's mechanics punish them for the sake of "keeping it competitive". If they're not having fun, and they don't care about trying because the game punishes them for doing so, then players are not going to want to experiment with new builds or try new tactics.

                    • I used to enjoy Gambit but it's one of the most infuriating experiences I've had in a game mode....ever. There seems to be too many ' balancing ' mechanics at play that make it a painful experience and sucks out all the fun. Get a good start and deposit a ton of motes and you'll soon be infested with add' s. And you definitely become more squishy carrying 15 motes as opposed to 4. I've been 1 shot from shriekers, just as I'm about to deposit motes in the bank on the central platform . You get waaay too many invaders if you have the lead. Throw into the mix dodgy teammates who aren't that interested in killing anything but instead love to run behind you and hoover up as many motes as they can. Gambit definitely needs a tweak here and there. The honeymoon period is over and it needs fixing.

                    • I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to play the mode for daily engrams because every team I go against is a 3-4 stack and my team is always potatoes that constantly die to trash or never turn in their motes and get melted by sleepers so it ends up being 15-60 in the first 2 minutes. After dealing with that for days on end it's just not worth it.

                    • You right. I seems they nerfed the older Guns. I have a gun that statistically better than forsaken gun...but It has very low damage and performance compare the new forsaken gun...!! I think the did it in purposely to force people to play their game. The best primary in the game is in Gambit...after you get to level 12..!

                    • I was just going to make a post about this. Tonight (Oct 27, 12 am to 12:40 am mst), I did 2 rounds of Gambit on XboX One. I'm in Western Canada, which means I should all of North American players to play with. It took 5 minutes (flying in hyperspace) for the first match to start and I was placed in game that had one other poor soul and the opposing team of 4 had maybe 10% left on their Primeval. We had maybe 5% of our motes banked. Match was over before we could do anything. The second match started out with just like the first, except it was 2 people flying in against a team of 4. We did what we could but they soon slammed us with 2 ogres and assorted other Taken bosses and then started sending invaders over. Half way through this match 2 people joined, one of whom went and hid in a corner and never killed anything or picked up a single mote. And before some one starts telling me about joining Clans and such, I am in a Clan with 97 players of players, and about 30 are really active. None of them want to play this crap anymore.
