It was OK. I appreciate them going with a unique story over trying to "reimagine" an old one (despite several nods and parallels to previous iterations). Overall, though, I felt like the whole "origin story" was a bit weak. In the past the Major's backstory has always been kept purposefully vague. I think it would have been better to do the same here. [b][u]Spoiler[/u][/b][spoiler]I get it, they wanted to tie her to Kuze so she'd empathize with him, but I don't think that having them being part of the same experiment was necessary. They could have just had him be a prototype (ie: guinea pig) for something unrelated to the development of the Major (such as networking human minds). Personally, it felt more like they wanted to address why she looks white, which could be easily explained if they followed the original manga where a generic exterior model was selected for her body (with military-grade internal hardware) so she could blend in and not arouse suspicion.[/spoiler]
