Stop Calling It “Soft Cheating” – Cheating Is Cheating
The rise of input manipulation devices (IMDs) in Destiny’s PvP community is an issue we can no longer ignore. These tools exploit aim assist and input behaviors, providing users with unfair advantages, yet some people casually dismiss them as “soft cheats.” This term minimizes the harm caused and creates a dangerous precedent by normalizing cheating in a game that thrives on competitive integrity.
Let’s be clear: cheating is cheating, regardless of whether it’s a wallhack, an aimbot, or an input manipulation device. Anything that enhances gameplay beyond a player’s natural skill level is a violation of fair play. The more we label these devices as “less bad,” the more we encourage players to adopt them, eroding trust and sportsmanship in Destiny’s PvP.
Bungie needs to act decisively, banning IMDs outright. Other games have implemented strict measures against these devices, and Destiny must follow suit to protect the community. It’s also on streamers and community leaders to stop calling IMDs “soft cheats,” as this language downplays the seriousness of their impact and sends the wrong message to their audiences.
The community must take a stand. Report cheating, avoid downplaying the issue, and demand stronger anti-cheat measures. There’s no gray area—cheating in any form undermines the game we all love. Let’s ensure Destiny’s PvP remains a true test of skill, not manipulation.

If you follow him specifically he does actually mention it at one point. He said it's not a big deal since he does not play PVP very much lol

So while you're busy ranting and not really saying anything, you might want to take a little time to explain what the hell these devices do. Because until people know what the device does, no one cares. Nothing that you have said or the name of the device itself would indicate anything severe or worth worrying about. I'm all for complaining for the sake of complaining but this post was just asinine P.s. You are an ordinary player you cannot ban anyone. It's adorable that you think you can though.

Yep cheating is cheating and just so sad and pathetic to do ….especially in destiny pvp . PvP is dying rapidly so who knows how long it’s got to go . Bungie got rid of thier anti cheat team so not sure what they would do . If you need to cheat in a video game then that says volumes about the individual.

1 RispondiCould not agree with you more cotton. Here’s the thing, in a TWAB last year they addressed the use of input device cheating stating it was against TOS. They also fired their security team in that same year, and reporting players has yet to actually net a ban. You would think that addressing some of the years of neglect PVP has gotten would fix their player population. Probably, but it’s too late at this point. Everyone left, and the ship has sailed. Pete parson just had to have that new cyber truck.

1 Rispondi100% Its even worse than blatant cheaters, I actually find it somewhat amusing when i see a guardian flying around with a sidearm shooting at a million rpm at least the guy is not hiding it and they know they’ll get banned But those pesky cheaters with hardware and software cheats who try to hide it are the ones who get on my nerves they’re the worst

You can scroll through the comments sections of these videos to see a fraction of the users. Many have been doing it for years and preach that it’s not ban-able. Sadly, it seems they’re right because Bungie has refused to address this problem at all. I’m not aware of a single person ever being banned for using an “accessibility device”.

Go to any boosting service website and you will find that the cheapest one is Flawless Trials 😂😂😂 SE raid completion costs you 20ish dollars while flawless trials are only 12 dollars

1 RispondiOh it's definitely cheating. Honestly the funniest part is like 90% of people that use those devices are still complete garbage. However it literally is soft cheating. That's not downplaying it. It's just the correct term. Soft sheating is still cheating. 100%. The soft part doesn't mean "acceptable" or "excusable" in any capacity. It's just used to distinguish between things like scripters/input modifiers and things like walls/actual aimbots.
