So...
There has been a lot of talk about what the new class weapons will be.
And at the same time there have been a lot of the same about the sword you see on some of the trailers.
So here is my theory:
Warlocks will get a Sword.
Hunters a Knife.
Titans a Hammer.
Reasoning?
Well they are pretty obvious really, since hunters have their knife, Titans will get a hammer in their new subclass, and warlocks will get the sword. And supporting this is that in the video of the sword we see in the heavy, it is a warlock carrying it.
Making them this way where they are very similar, they avoid any of them being better than the others.
I strongly believe that this actually is a heavy weapon. And this will work in Crucible also, since it will have a ammo counter, and you have to be in melee range to hit some one. That way it wont be just a bladedancing super. Since every time you press it you loose ammo, and also you wont be blinking around as much as you do as a hunter when blade dancing.
Sure it will probably be good in some situations in crucible, but honestly so are most heavy weapons also. And the fact that you need to be in melee will make it less OP sort of speak.
So what do you think?
For me this feels very likely.
I haven't heard any one else bringing this forth as a thought, but I may be wrong ofc. For me this feels very obvious so some should probably have had the same thought process.
***EDIT***
So sword is confirmed, and it did not say any class requirement, also we saw a hunter dancing with the weapon on stream.
This can mean that my theory is totally wrong (quite likely) or that you can use other classes weapons if you have gained them on your other characters, (unlikely) or the fact that this is just a test build and that's why he had the sword also. (also unlikely)
It was a theory and i was most likely wrong. :)

From what I've seen of the damage output its probably going to fill the heavy slot, but couldn't say for sure

bilbo t baginzzにより編集済み: 9/5/2015 3:30:10 AMThis is retarded... First you make a thread with a title which implies that you have information about the class weapons.. Then you start by sating "So here is my theory"... EDIT: didnt check the date but in the stream all 3 classes had swords. Also they said you cant get the exotic sword as a drop you will need to earn it.

I think the fact that the sword has Impact, Range, and Energy stats, as well as being shown having "ammo" in the Gameinformer video, means that we'll get to use the sword to "shoot" energy blasts, either in tandem with or as opposed to wielding it like a regular sword. If that is the case, then I think being able to wield it as a melee weapon, as well as shoot blasts AND use it for defensive purposes will make it crazy powerful. We'll see eventually

A knife? Wtf am I going to do bringing a knife in to a sword fight... give me a -blam!-ing full time bow, or a rubber dildo, preferably the poon destroyer 5000 in black, mother-blam!-ers will definitely run from that, because who wants to get smacked to death with a big ass black dildo

A Hunter Literally Had The Sword Equipped At The End? Like???? there's been no evidence of hammers or knives

Its for everyone. A. a hunter was equipped with it and B. you probably find it in the dreadnought.
