Lost Sols pointed me (and many others) to this article: http://www.gamesradar.com/heres-why-theres-no-matchmaking-destiny/
Luke, it almost feels like you don’t read these forums. And if you do, it looks like you don’t care. :-(
When a raid, nightfall, strike, whatever starts there should be a little menu:
Welcome guardian! Thanks for sticking with us! We want to give you three options for this event. Please pick one and we’ll take care of the rest!
1. I want to run this one solo (yes, I know the consequences).
2. I want to run this one with randoms (yes, I know the consequences).
3. I want to run this one with my online friends (Luke’s choice).
Luke, please get this: We want OPTIONAL matchmaking. That's something different than FORCED matchmaking.
I will explain this by using ice cream instead of matchmaking. When you go to your favorite ice cream shop, it is very nice if you get a question like:
"Do you want chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, etc. etc?"
That sounds nice! That's not the same as forced ice cream:
"HERE IS THE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM!"

"No help! I don't want it!"

"YOU HAVE TO EAT IT! I WILL JAM IT DOWN YOUR THROAT IF I HAVE TO!"
Now that doesn't sound nice at all, now does it? So there's a clear difference between forced ice cream and optional ice cream. The same goes for matchmaking. There's a big difference between forced matchmaking and optional matchmaking.
Luke, what Destiny means to you, is not what it means to everybody. Please get that. Fix this game while you still can, or soon everybody will be playing fallout, battlefront, halo 5 or any other great game that comes around.

Luke just needs to stick to doing what's he paid to do....design. Not talk to the media, he's horrible at it and actually makes me not want to play the game the more I read/hear the asswash that comes out of his mouth

Matchmaking for raids... No Matchmaking for nightfall.. I'm ok with this Randoms suck, they'll smack that ice cream right out of your hands and pretend to be blind, mute, and deaf. Never trust a random without a mic.

Cod ghost. Extinction mode match making would be perfect. Everyone look it up on YouTube if not familiar with the game. They could easily do it for raids but they r -blam!-ing gay.

Really good post mate. I couldn't agree more, and can't understand why they never gave you an option for match making. The whole process of having to keep posting messages on the forum, or trying to add people from the forum is such a ball ache. Classic was this morning, just wanted a blast up on nightfall, took almost 10 mins to get a team together. What difference would adding a optional match making feature, end of the day you still join a fire team with a bunch of strangers!! I think in current times, when numbers are dwindling, match making is needed more then ever, especially with new block buster titles continuing to come out. I agree with someone else's comment on this thread, when they say the only ones against match making are players trying to hold on to this elitism status, especially those streaming on twitch!! I can assure you it won't be match making that topples the elite! Anyway I really hope Bungie look into this, been needed for so long, other wise all that will be left is a small number of die hards still clinging on!

There will never be optional MM in this game for all events nor does it need it either.
-
If they haven't added something that common sense should have told them to put in their game I the first place, within the first 12 months.... It's just not worth it anymore. I don't care if the implement it one day anymore. 12 months was too long to wait. I think I'm done with Bungie forever. Even if they fix Destiny. I honestly just think they aren't good developers...I think the reason they don't implement what they players want, is because they literally aren't good enough too. And they're just afraid to admit they suck so are okay with being labeled as lazy lol.

There should be optional match making, lfg groups fail all the time. If you have used lfg then you have been in a group that failed or one member leaves half way thru only to pause the event to search for a replacement. The bottom line is using lfg doesn't increase your chance of a successful Raid any more than matchmaking. It's BS.

Gooch_McGrundleにより編集済み: 11/6/2015 10:57:34 PMNot for raids. Wouldn't work. Would be a complete waste of resources to implement that just to watch it be a catastrophic failure. Day after raid matchmaking is implemented, forums be like "raids impossible, it's too hard, my group spent 9 hours on Warpriest, nerf nerf nerf, no ones using a mic please make mic required, no one has recommended light level please nerf light level for raid nerf nerf nerf whine whine whine this is bullshit I QUIT FOREVER IM GONNA PLAY FALLOUT :,(" Amirite?
i PROMISE you'll still be on LFG if you actually plan on beating anything
My solution is in the UI menu simply have a button PVE Matchmaking: -Default (this is your button if you wish to keep it as it is) -On (allow the use for matchmaking in ALL strikes, Raids and POE) -Off (you wish to solo EVERYTHING, are you mad???) this could work for PVP also PVP Matchmaking: -Default (leave it as is/Iron banner is set to Default) -On (allows use of match made groups in ToO) -Off (you and friends can fight it out in private games, each map is random this option is restricted to Crucible only) note: Off also allows you to run around a map solo and does reward gear to all players that participated from the start however there light level will not exceed yours and bounty progression is disabled.

Destiny isnt designed for solo gamers, so u need others more than ever. But not all my friends want to play the same game or they are tied up in something else. Just make the matchmaking easier...

Bump. It's so simple but such a demanded feature. However, if we did choose optional matchmaking - a few more simple features would be necessary in my eyes: - Class (which ones you would like to be matched with) - Conversation (do you have a mic and going to be able to talk - Adult (so people like myself who are in our 30s don't get matches with kids - not that there is anything wrong but I usually find it less enjoyable and feel guilty if I swear, which can happen a lot in the raids!) The system should also look to match you with people close to your light level. As this exists in strike matchmaking this would be simple to do.

Optional matchmaking will hurt no one and anyone that uses it will have no right to complain if people go AFK.
