transition 360->One, had Digital Collectors on 360, bought Legendary Digital on One... lost access to emotes and gear?
@Bungie - I recently finally made the jump from Xbox 360 to Xbox One - I'd heard that there was a deal for a free upgrade to make the transition, and was disappointed to hear that was no longer true. Ok... not thrilled, but I guess I can handle that. So I paid for (again) the Legendary Digital Edition. I'd bought the Digital Collector's Edition of the Taken King originally on the 360 (despite knowing that I was actually paying again for the original game, but I'd gotten a lot of play time out of it, so ok...), and figured since I already had the extras in my vault and on my character, the Digital Legendary Edition on the One would put me back in the game...
Not so much. I'm able to play, but can't use any of the emotes or class items that came with the Collector's edition, despite them actually being on my characters! (Insult... meet injury.)
Is there anything I can do here? Paying two times sucked. Paying three times was stupid. Paying four times? No way. I get that it was my mistake, but it wasn't at all clear that I needed the Collector's Edition *again* to use items I actually (for no real good reason) already paid for.
Anything you can do to at least make those available again?
Yeah. The digital upgrade for vanilla destiny ended jan 15 2015. The dark below and house of wolves still carries over and does not have an expiration. The taken long was not included in the upgrade.
As for the collectors edition items, I'm in the same boat except in reverse. I bought the collectors on xbone and can not use the items on 360.
I'm gonna add a post I usually use with this topic. Feel free to read it or not. I toss in some economics to help ease the pain of purchasing a second time.
If you buy a tshirt in large and add a couple pounds, you don't get the XL for free.
If you buy a tshirt in XL and drop a few pounds, you don't get the L for free.
I know that doesn't really say what you want it to but when you actually look at the scenario at its base business plan, it's spot on.
Bungie did EVERYONE a huge bonus with the upgrade program the first year. And many people took advantage of it. But it was a bonus.
The way I see it.
I've spent 65$ on destiny at launch, expansion pass for 35$ at launch and TTK for 40 on 360 and 40 on xbone with the collectors edition for 20.
Grand total: 200$ for 2 full years of content and gameplay.
3 of my friends buy a new game every month cause there is always something new coming out and they usually finish them in 30 days.
New game 65$ x 24 (two full years of gameplay) = 1560$
Now let's say they trade in their games to gamestop at the max 30$ bringing their new game total to 35$
35$ x 24 = 840$
And just for a laugh let's say they only bought games every other month and still got the 30$ trade in
35 x 12 = 420$
So the way I see it, even if you spent 200$ on destiny, if you enjoy the game, do it. Your still spending less than others.
