To start off, I'm not much one for religious and political threads. Tbh, I never liked that Bungie lifted the ban on them and I think they're one of the main reasons this forum is such a shell of its former. However I'm currently doing a research paper for my government class an I figured I'd ask your opinion on my subject:
Article 12 of the U.S. Constitution, the Electoral College
Are you for or against it, and if so, why?
Also please do try your best to not turn this thread into a political shit-slinging competition.

I want it gone. It was useful in the time where communication could take months, but it is no longer useful. It alters our votes and can sway elections as a result (Bush vs Gore for instance). Because of where I live, my vote NEVER matters. Our elections should be strictly popularity votes, to lessen the possibility of rigged elections.

It was only useful when we had a nation of uneducated fools...
wait a minute
The Electoral College is broken. Each state votes differently, some give the Electoral votes proportionally to each candidate, and some give all the votes to the candidate with the fifty-one percent vote. California, for example, is a zero sum game. This means that whomever receives the majority of the votes in the popular election will receive all of the state's representation. This essentially erases the entire Midwest's representation. Also, the electoral college voters can choose to vote out of their own preference rather than for their constituents. It is a broken system.
