TL;DR: Should teachers be able to force students to do things they don't want to do (that doesn't involve schoolwork)? And, should teachers be able to THREATEN their students?
I know that a lot of my threads are bait, but this one is a real story.
In my school, in January we have a "Winter Carnival". Each homeroom is divided into teams, but both homerooms in my class teamed up. And, for one of our team teachers, we got the worst teacher in the entire school that everyone hated. The other one likes to tell everyone around her when one person does something slightly wrong as if everyone does it all the time.
Anyways, one day, we had to do a "suitcase race", where 4 people from each team would open up a suitcase, put on all the clothes inside, and run across the gym. The problem was, only 3 people wanted to do it in my class. Then, the second teacher I mentioned started complaining and whining like she was on the #Dentistry forums.
The second teacher (the one everyone hates), does the dumbest thing I've ever seen her do. SHE THREATENS US. SHE STARTS YELLING AND SHOUTING AT US SAYING THAT IF SOMEONE DOESN'T VOLUNTEER TO GO UP EVERYONE GETS IN TROUBLE. Out of absolute fear, I volunteer.
Now, for the question: Should teachers be able to force students to do things they don't want to do (that doesn't involve schoolwork)? And, should teachers be able to THREATEN their students?

The only thing I have to say is that my science teacher played a Bill Nye the Science Guy episode today.

Is this high school? If it is the staff there sound like they are treating teenagers like they are 7. Back when i was in school if there was anything i did not benefit from like assemblies or sports games i would just leave school go to best buy or go play games with my friends we would skip and play Mario Party.

Wait, you need to run a suitcase across a gym? You poor souls :(
On a serious note, it's really not a big deal and you should just do it to get it over with
No teachers shouldn't threaten kids/students. Talk to your principle about this and maybe you'll get her fired lol. On the other side though it was kind of stupid how some students wouldn't just do it lol. They must not have "Just Do It!" on there wall in the gym or something.

Teachers should try to encourage students to try new things that they are nervous about, I.E. Some kid doesn't want to eat an egg roll, the teacher would encourage him to eat it. But force and threats are not needed.
