Kinderguardians: Raiding the Vault of Glass-Part 3
All characters relating to or belonging to BraveCole are, as always, property of BraveCole. BraveCole could shut this fan-fanfiction down, whether in space or time. Also, good luck in the Vault this week, for those who haven't completed it.
Edit: Checking back on OG posts of Kinderguardians, by BraveCole, the RJ here doesn't represent the RJ now... changing that in this chapter, or the next chapter.
A wipe has happened. Fexil is sorely disappointed in not the fireteam, but in Rakkl, for ditching them in times of need.
Fexil: God *blam*it!
RJ: Arggh...
Velohan (Bark): We all died...
RJ: Wow, what a coward! Leaving us for more weapons!
Once the fireteam finished ranting on Rakkl, they calm down. They have lunch in the Vault, although I cannot see how they brought food in.
Fexil: I guess we're just waiting for Rakkl?
RJ: I guess...
Dawn: Ventis, W-while w-we're wait-ting, could you tell me the prophecy?
Ventis: Sure.
Rakkl (Through communication feed): Hey guys? Might need a pick-me-up. Seriously, both my legs are misplaced, my arm is dettatched, and my ghost has gone to the bathroom.
RJ: Your ghost didn't heal you while you went to the tower?
Rakkl (Through coms): I swear, my ghost hates me. Oh, wait, hi Cayde!
Cayde (Through coms): Hey, CRakkly Voice!
Rakkl (Through coms): I swear Cayde...
Ventis: Do you see Professor BraveCole?
Rakkl: Yeah. He's at the gunsmith. Banshee's at lunch now, but they might be talking about your expulsion.
Ventis, saying nothing more to his rude partner, turns to Dawn and secretly tells her the Prophecy.
Dawn: Oh n-no!
Ventis: Yup.
Dawn: Wait, so who are the Exos?
RJ: Pretty sure none in our initial group are.
Fexil: I'm sure that Bark and Rakkl are Exos, then.
RJ: Wait, why are you asking me this? And why is Crackly Rakkl taking so long! More action, people!
Ventis: "Crackly?"
Rakkl-2:-and Ghost, that is exactly why I said to heal me.
Rakkl's Ghost: Sorry? I'm deaf, remember?
Rakkl: You know well that you're not, you one-eye bastard.
RJ: Hey, Becky, was it really necessary for you to come?
Becky: Yes, because Professor BraveCole wanted to check tabs on you, dear. Especially you.
RJ: Nerf Ghosts.
Rakkl's Ghost: Yo, I heard that, ya little runt!
Becky: Hello, Balthazar.
Rakkl's Ghost: Oh-! Why hello, Becky! How might you be doing this fine evening?
Rakkl: It's actually 2 in the afternoon.
Ventis (checking his clock): Oh wow, I'm three hours behind! I forgot to change my clock!
Rakkl: Good job, floofer.
RJ: We gonna start, or what?
Rakkl: Yeah, that's enough of ya.
Rakkl's Ghost: Waiit! No!!
Dawn: No!!
Rakkl had taken his hand cannon out of the holster. By the time Balthazar knew what was going on, Rakkl had already been aiming down at his Ghost. By the time he has said this, he had already pulled the trigger.
A large bang could be heard. The little light had fallen to the ground, in half-transmat. Fear had stricken the Kinderguardians, as they have learned that you cannot resurrect without a ghost. Fexil turns his head, and Velohan sits down. Becky was the first to speak.
Becky: Why would you do that? That ghost had chosen you! And this is how you treat it back?! Unbelievable!
Rakkl: Kid was annoying, just that.
RJ: But you didn't have to shoot it!
Rakkl: Says the kid who wanted a nerf!
RJ: I didn't mean to cut off your only connection to our world!
Rakkl: Hey, I was happy, where I was! And that machine took that from me!
Dawn: S-so y-you r-return-ned t-he f-f-favor?! H-how c-could y-you! Y-you, y-ou're j-j-just l-like-
Rakkl: Rezzl Azzir? Ain't like him kid. Otherwise, you would all be dead...
(in a whisper) not that you wouldn't be.
Ventis: By destroying your ghost, you're allowing the darkness to take over your body! I cannot allow that!
Rakkl: Oh? And why not!
Ventis: Cause I'm going to take it from you!
Rakkl: Heh, kid, you're going to get seriously hurt here.
Fexil: Okay, guys stop. We've wasted three hours on arguing here. We need to start now.
Ventis: Time doesn't pass that fast!
Rakkl: On the contrary, it does in the Vault.
RJ: Nerf time.. Now it's time to do this already!
Rakkl: Fine, then.
As the guardians jump down the ledge without getting injured, the Templar appears. This hydra has been waiting in the Vault for decades, waiting for trespassers to walk along. The Templar prepares the Ritual of Negation.
Fexil: Everyone has at least reviewed the strategy books on the way here, right?
Ventis: Yes, Fexil!
Dawn: U-um, I g-got to the G-gatek-keeper p-part!
RJ: I- err... forgot my book inside!
Fexil: Oh boy.. Well, I'd better take you, hunter. Word of advice? Follow my command. You don't want to die, seeing as we have a lack of a ghost here.
RJ: So, can I pop a blade when I see nubs?
Fexil: Pop it only when I say so. Hey! Fanatics, people!
Dawn: Auugh!
Dawn pops a blinding bubble. The fanatics back off, but are still shooting about.
Fexil: Hunter, don't step in that green stuff! That'll contaminate you!
RJ: Dude, I just stepped in two more puddles.
Fexil: My goodness... hurry to that glowing plate before the Ritual starts!
RJ: Right! Bladedance! Away!
RJ activates his bladedancer, slicing nearly every goblin in sight. Stepping in more goo, RJ grows weary, despite being filled with electricity.
RJ: Whew! *huff* I am tired!
Fexil: Don't stop!
RJ: I'm *huff* out *puff* of *huff* breath!
Fexil: You'll die! You've only got a short time left!
RJ: Oh *blam!* *blam blam blam blam blam BLAM!*
RJ runs as fast as he could as the Templar releases the Ritual. Shockwaves of energy can be seen coming from the Templar itself, as blue orbs attack and injure RJ as he steps on the plate...
And the universe splits into two.
BraveCole: ...Alright Ikora, so I cleaned that robot's feet a total of 98 times. Are you still mad at me?
Ikora: For your rashness and stubborness, guardians are not fully ready to control the storm if they don't channel the light to do so. A Warlock's light can only bend in so many ways, BraveCole, and it could break if exposed to a dangerous source without training.
Cayde: Heh, reminds me of Tevis.
Zavala: Besides this, BraveCole, you have sent not one, not two, but three kinderguardians to the Vault of Glass! Are you insane?
BraveCole: You would want guardians to channel their light further, Zavala. Ikora, this a perfect time for Ventis to "Stormball."
Ikora: Enough with this, get the guardians back. We've heard the Vault's evolved, and not in a good way.
BraveCole: Tsk! Fine.
Walking away, BraveCole bids the Vanguard goodbye. In his mind, he wants to keep the kids at the Vault so they can learn to raid, to work with unknown people.
BraveCole: Then again, I could end up fired from my job.
And with that, the Universe split into many timelines, each with its own futures and predetermined fates.
Here's hoping Brave doesn't get sacked. Mr. Oddish is good and all, but simultaneously teaching two kinderguardians classes might be a bit much for him.
