Here me out. I would really like to see a safe clan trading system in destiny 2 were 1 weapon of the same rarity could be traded for another. This system would only work between clan members as it stops potential scams from unknown players. Taking inspiration from warframe, you could join up with a clan member and go to a trading vendor at the tower. You both place the weapons your willing to trade in the viewing slot and you can inspect each other's rolls. When your ready to trade you can move your weapon to the trade slot, your weapon can't be picked up by a trading partner until they've placed there's in the trading slot too. You aren't able to trade weapons that come from content you haven't bought. Weapons that come from quests won't be able to be traded and only masterworked items can be traded. This could stop new lights from being bribed into a scam as their weapons most likely aren't masterworked. NO EXOTICS CAN BE TRADED, this is because some exotics don't have catylsts and therefore cannot be masterworked. Players must be In a clan for atleast 30 days before they can trade and a certain light level must be acquired to be able to trade, this should also help with new lights not being scammed. Before you enter your weapon into the trading slot there will be a warning message displayed with a proceed button and a cancel button (to proceed or cancel the trade obv). Lastly a hefty warning and disclaimer notice should be issued when using the trading system for the first time. This will explain the trading rules and probably scare new lights into doing their own research about the trading system. Note this isn't a fool proof plan, any ideas you have or loopholes I've missed please share your thoughts.
