I wish we could have a practice mode in raids, or even dungeons, with no loot, so we could learn the mechanics without worrying about ads.
So all the mechanics would be there, even a wipe mechanic, but ads and enemies would have like 1 hp. Thank you.

BackdoorBaconにより編集済み: 1/22/2025 10:31:53 PMOr how about a lower tier raid mode with no revive tokens restriction and no enrage mechanics. Perhaps make the weapon drops not enhanceable or eligible for deepsight to make the gatekeepers happy.

Or just learn the mechanic? I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but the point of a raid is to learn new/ or difficult mechanics while under (or not depending on the raid) stress. If ain’t for you don’t do it then 🤷🏻♂️

As someone that sherpas, I've spent countless hours on an idea like this. I just don't have the technical expertise to make this a reality. It could be presented as a "simulation" where new players can be exposed to the raid in a tutorial-like setting. Each encounter is broken into small, digestible roles to allow for easy understanding. Players can launch into any portion of the raid at their leisure to focus on specific roles/encounters that give them trouble. Most sherpees I've encountered aren't fearful of the actual raid, mechanics and/or difficulty. What generates anxiety is the feeling of letting someone down and/or wasting people's time. If there was an option to allow players to learn the raid at their pace, I truly believe that the raiding population would flourish in numbers and open up a whole new demographic to raiding.

There's literally no difference in posting for a newbie run and learning the mechanics by doing the actual activity. I mean, how is the system supposed to know who's doing what role and explain to them what they're supposed to do while they're playing? When I first got into D2 I was in a free to join clan, pretty much none of us had any raiding experience (save for me who did VoG once back in D1 but that wasn't even planned as I just got approached by someone in the tower and I didn't even have a working mic...). Someone watched a guide, tried to explain it to the rest and we just sort of figured things out by doing them.... People don't raid because there's no training mode. People don't raid because they're not interested.

SenXXIIにより編集済み: 1/22/2025 9:00:27 PMI mean. You guys can go into a raid and just not expect to complete it but learn and understand it. You can make practice parties yourself. Like everybody does with a new raid. There are guides to help you.

Here me out 9 man raid teams. Bungie could enable a 9 man mode for raids. In this mode, you can get weapons and armor but it's all non-powerful drops. There is no exotic drop chance or hidden chests. Players or teams who have cleared the raid on normal mode gain bonuses towards exotic raid weapons drop rates in the normal and master modes for doing these training raids each week. You also gain bonus deepsight weapons on your next non-training clear.

OP: Good suggestion! 👍 My 2 cents: in D1 - I raided nonstop with my regular crews of buds from around the world, at different times of my/our respective day. And it was a hoot! After the Sunset debacle…everyone I knew bounced…then, I did the same - to WarFrame (MR24)… Some time later…I returned to Destiny’s shores…but with a very different level of engagement, and perspective. I love the Destiny universe - what’s left of it, and am familiar with most things in it. However, things had changed…and not for the better, imho: overtuned difficulty levels / throttling of a player’s abilities / toxic ‘KWTD or kick’ elements / etc… and most of all, the bad stuff going on within BHQ…🧐 So, there was more that I didn’t want to do, than stuff that I do / did; and pootling about doing vanilla stuff on my vanilla build toons was okay by me; I also spent time completing unfinished Seals / Triumphs etc… The Final Shape - the campaign on L was beyond my patience grade…so I stuck to doing it on normal mode. The epic 12-man mission was worth it…as that closed my 10-year compact…and those strands that bind, were well and truly severed. 🥳 Pale Heart zones - were great, but, my W / T couldn’t access until they completed the campaign?! I did it once already on my H, and I did not want—at that stage—to rinse and repeat; even though I did eventually get it done, much, much later. Those 4 missions to get the Seal - I didn’t do. Those, and other ridiculous requirements meant I didn’t bother…same went for some of those exotic weapon quests, eg, that glaive…the latest shotgun one, too! But, I digress… I know I would have appreciated an ‘in game’ tutorial on the various puzzles and other secret mechanics prior to encountering them along the way! Some I could work out, others proved a trifle more complex. This was not my first rodeo, after all. 🤔 I can’t imagine how a New Light or returning old timer would feel about such things?! Raids: time is an issue. I’d be happy to jump into a bite-sized section and do that—as often as desired—rather than commit to a multi-hour long run via LFG / FTF or someone’s Discord. Raid Clans: great stuff…but, my own Clan I’m not abandoning, as it is for me and my wingman (son)…plus an old buddy from way back, who’s currently on other operations. What I’d love to be able to do, is temporarily join with any other Clan as an associate clan member, to do Raids / Dungeons etc..without having to sacrifice my own clan in the first place! And once the activity is done, we can all part ways as desired! Anyhoo, here I be - still, and with the positive changes to Trials…and the game - looking forward, hopefully, BHQ / Sony will MDGA! 👈 Ease Springs! 🫡 MDGA = Make Destiny Great Again! 🤞

I suggested a couple years ago that there should be a raid easy/learning mode whereby the rewards do not include raid gear, only rewards similar to a strike. The forum response was negative from the raid gatekeepers.

I dont care about the mechanics or the bad guys.. I like this idea because all those raid maps are awesome places to explore.. what wasted amount of content that is not able to be seen and enjoyed in some way

maybe an "LFG" difficulty for raids like WOW has would be a good idea to teach people encounters and get them used to a raid before they step foot in normal or master to be rewarded with spoils, red border weapons, and adepts the difficulty could reward base weapons and armour which can have harmonizers put into them but no red borders and 0% chance of an exotic upon completion -
What I've suggested and 100% accept won't happen because of development time is a playlist of raid encounters where the mechanics would be relaxed as basically a training mode for raids. So you'd get kind of like tool tips for encounters and it would change weekly like the nightfall. You could give either ritual weapons or world drops for rewards so raid weapons stay in the raid. I personally think this would help more people into raiding.
