Though the term wasn’t even around yet, he was a person of interest, they just didn’t have nearly enough evidence. He was eventually locked up in a mental facility for the rest of his life, being treated for schizophrenia.
His name was Aaron Kosminski. He was a Polish immigrant, and a barber.
A shawl worn by one of the victims was blood stained and went up for auction in 2007, and the historian who purchased it went right to work and found DNA samples and they matched PERFECTLY with a relative of Aaron Kosminski.
Well done to historian Russell Edwards for finally solving the first serial killer case.
