Alright, so we all don't agree with the changes in today's update, nerf on materials, motes, and coins and then the adding of motes/ P2P/P2W.
Think more about this from a business and marketing side: introduce something that generates revenue - put it out there - trial.
This is their "trial phase." Just simply don't buy/contribute to the microtransactions. The lower THEIR quota/goal is, the higher chance it WON'T be a thing.
Edit: Luke has confirmed no P2W via Twitter. Someone made s post about it. Woo!

sad part is there will be so many people that buy them all..the grown ups version of pokemon...gotta have em all...so many destiny players have to get everything...so enough people will spend plenty, the game and servers will still have problems because the money wont go where it needs to go. i will not buy any silver and hope many others will also just take the free silver and end it there...we dont need microtransactions to invade our console games because when they see enough people spending the money it will only get worse when they realize how quickly and easily people spend money on useless items.

Or better yet, buy them if you want to and don't if you don't! If you do you'll get cool new emotes and support future free content, and if you don't you won't have to pay any money and can still get 2 emotes for free with the free silver they gave you!

Thats weird. They give you enough to buy two emotes and the system works. You dont have to buy any at all, but people like you feel the need to rain on peoples fun. Not that I in anyway think you are actually affecting anyone with this thread. But, just like any foil hat wearing loser that yells on the street, you need to be shut up.

I certainly won't be spending any money. The OP is quite correct. Bungie are just 'testing the water' to see how many will take up this money making scam.
