How's Elder Scrolls online?

Loved all the Bethesda games, but haven't tried ESO, heard mixed opinions on it, what's your opinion, is it any good? Multiplayer? Combat?

If you like MMOs then you'll like it. Fully voiced dialogue, a metric shit ton of content, Dark Brotherhood DLC is coming out soon, available DLC is pretty fun, PvP is a lot of fun, dungeons are your standard dungeons nothing too crazy, being a Vampire is awesome, lot of combat diversity that isn't tied to your class so you can literally do whatever you want (for example, heavy armor mage) Some negatives: Leveling is heavily tied to doing quests. If you hate doing quests, don't get the game. But if you hate quests....why would you play a fantasy RPG? After level 50, you start earning Veteran ranks, which is super grindy. I don't find the grind to be all the bad because it lets you play in a different faction and experience their questline when you complete the main story...so it's like experiencing another 30-40 hours of new lore. Which is kinda nice, if you like that. I hate crafting, and crafting is pretty much the only reliable way to get armor that you want. For example, you might get this really epic shoulder armor after completing a dungeon except you find out it looks like total shit and clashes with the rest of your armor. You can craft the style of armor you want, but I find that to be a huge pain in the ass. No transmog system. No armor preview system. Oh, and enchanting armor and weapons is really confusing in my opinion. I still don't get it. I recommend reading the forums though. I'm just too lazy. The dye system is really nice, though. Yeah, the dyes are locked behind achievements but a lot of them are pretty easy to get. I like mixing up my color scheme every once in a while. I mostly run the Ash Black dye you get from beating the main story and a red secondary color. But sometimes I'll mix it up and run hot pink and neon green because -blam!- it why not? If you like MMO-style PvP then you'll probably like this. A lot of people say the PvP system is the game's strongest point. I neither agree nor disagree. I'm not too into PvP myself, but from what I've played it's pretty fun. You get siege weapons like flaming catapults and battering rams which are fun to use. You can knock down the doors and walls of enemy strongholds and steal their flags (in this case Elder Scrolls) to give your faction useful buffs. There's a lot to like about the game IF, and only IF you go into it expecting an MMO and everything that an MMO implies. Please, don't buy this game expecting "Skyrim 2" or "Skyrim with muh friends" because it's an MMO first and a Elder Scrolls game second. It's not fair to compare a single player RPG to an MMO. An MMO has "baggage" attached to it that only some people enjoy.
