In one of the books of sorrow, the hive say, let us destroy the leviathan with witchcraft. In the grimiore it says that they give themslves titles such as, the queen of witches. Other books of sorrow say that they are from the netherworld and that they gather in covens and use incantations or spells. Are these terms used in a more or less literal manner, or are they symbolic terms meaning something else entirely? I beg your help for an official answer!

Can't help you but if you love the lore you may be interested in these podcasts. Some really cool ideas about the lore. But be warned. They are anywhere from 30min -2+ hours and there are about 43 of them.

First off, wrong forum, please edit your post and change your #help to #destiny. If you could do that as soon as possible, that would be fantastic and thank you. Now on your topic, I would question honestly why it matters. It is a video game, has no religious ties whatsoever and there isn't even a 'Christmas' event which ironically is not even a Christian holiday but a celebration of a pagan holiday anyway. I am just curious, why do you ask this?

I believe this post would belong to #Destiny #Lore as this is not a technical issue, but I will not say anything on this matter. (well, I'll say this much. Bungie has not even celebrated any religious events in Destiny ever. They have always invented a new in game holiday to take the place. So I would say that those terms are jist used for the sake of story telling and lore, and not in any religious maner) Ps. Yes I know, I am not representing Bungie and this is not a official response.
