I see alot of people coming here for advice. What tips do you other Destiny vets have for new people starting out?
Here are some of mine. I have tried my best to impress these points onto my newer clannies who are still coming up the line. Easy tips for everyone:
1) Play more defensively. In every single mode/playlist/activity in Destiny 2, the king of everything is like the Beegees: Stayin' Alive. If you find yourself constantly being hosed by multiple combatants in the open you are being too aggressive. Stay back. Use cover. If you're a warlock put your rift half in/half out of cover so you can use it to peek-shoot.
2) Mobility can and will save your -blam!-. The community can be divided on this one but I find that one of the things that keeps me alive the most is my ability to gtfo of a bad situation. The Uncatchable secondary perk on the Striking Light mod helps alot too.
3) Protective Light and Better Already. Find these mods. Put them both on a single piece of gear. Slap a Taking Charge mod on something else. Bam, you die way less.
4) Adjust your build/playstyle to suit the enemies you fight, up to and including the defensive mods on your chest piece. Elemental/sniper/concussive/melee defense mods make a big difference.
5) Consider the synergies between your exotic armor piece and exotic weapon. If they start playing off of and boosting each other, congrats! You have the makings of a build. Mods and stats can help you deepen those synergies.
6) Cover all your ranges between your 3 weapons. Have something that can deal with -blam!- close up, a mid range workhorse, and something with long range punch. This way you will be able to deal with enemies wherever you hit contact, regardless of range.
7) If your mod library isn't complete, check for mods at Banshee and Ada-1 every single time you go into the tower. Also, make sure you collect rewards from the different playlist vendors when you can.
8) Max out your ghost shell first thing. Slap a glimmer mod and activity-focused modularity mod on it. This will 100% help you level up as you always need both glimmer and upgrade mods.
9) Choose a playstyle and build around it. This will come with time, as Destiny is deep af and takes forever to understand in all its complexity... However, once you have a good grasp of how the game moves and your place in it, start thinking about HOW you want to play. Chances are there is a way to maximize that specific playstyle. Do the research. Experiment with it. There is no real RIGHT way to play this game. Make it work for you. Make it fun. -blam!- the haters.
10) Be curious. Explore. Experiment. Play with every exotic. Decide what works and what doesn't. The beauty of this game is its diversity and expansiveness. There are secrets everywhere in the gameworld. There are weapons and armor pieces people sleep on and never discover. Figure it out for yourself. The fun is the journey.
Eyes up, Guardians ✌️
My advice is.
1. Try every weapon you get and make your own mind up same with armor.
2. If something is not working on a quest come and ask DO not just delete the quest or even delete the character. 7+ years playing and never had a problem with a quest. Take it slow never rush anything and all will be good
3. Just play the game and enjoy it do not listen to the anti-Destiny keyboard warriors.
