Like in my opinion, New Lights should atleast get ONE, just one, campaign they can play for themselves just so they get to feel how the game is like, and so that they know how Destiny story and mechanics work. Because currently they have nothing to do but PvP. They have zero free content to access, well maybe a few. But they need some content or they'll just leave and not bother with the gane at all. How are you supposed to attract people to buy more of yoyr campaign without them trying? One introductory mission isn't going tk br enough.
In conclusion, New Lights need a campaign to play so they can experience what Destiny 2 story is like. Maybe not Red War exactly to be back, but any campaign.

Just have it with a limited number of missions. 1. Shortened Intro mission where we lose the light, meet Hawthorn, and she gives us a shotgun. The ghost has the idea to go to the Shard of the Traveler during the mission. (long mission) 2. We go straight for the Shard and get the light back. Our ghost with the light can pick up Vanguard transmissions and we head to Titan. (short mission) 3. We find Sloan who is helping fight the hive, and after helping her regain decrypting tech from the fallen and clearing out hive infection, we learn with Zavala about the Almighty. We then go to find the other two Vanguard (medium mission) 4. We discover the Exodus Black and Failsafe, who fills us in on Cayde and helps us free him from his own Vex shenanigans. (medium mission) 5. We seek out Ikora who has her own concern with Taken forming a bridge to IO. She sends us to stop a Cabal mining operation that is unwillingly helping the Taken. (medium mission) 6. The Vanguard plans with Hawthorn to take the city back, but the Almighty has to be dealt with before that can happen. We are sent to invade the weapon and take it down. (long mission) 7. We now fight through the city to confront Gaul and defeat him. (long mission) Not only is this only 7 missions (Bungie's number) compared to the previous 16, but it also introduces new players to unique places and allows them to experience the vastness of Destiny's universe. They don't need to do every single old adventure, but introducing them to the Vanguard one by one, as well as the minor characters like Sloan and Failsafe, allows them to feel that the world is alive.

I think they should create a different game that’s only past expansions. I didn’t play D1 so I missed all that, and all the new lights in D2 have missed so much! It would be so helpful too for the people who missed some seasonal story. I missed an entire expansion (shadowkeep) and I’m so confused! They really should create something better then their little two sentence recaps.

Agree! Bungie really needs to make a new campaign for new lights. Since a lot of planets are gone for now and Nessus is propably going dark soon, this new campaign should mainly set place on Earth, EDZ and Cosmodrome. The Red War, Curse of Osiris and Warmind stories aren’t really important for current events but they really need to introduce the whole Osiris/Savathun, Cayde/Crow and the upcoming pyramids plotlines to new lights.

작성자: Corrick II 3/28/2022 2:56:25 PMI don’t know. I can see the value of both sides. On the one hand, it’s a game. New players need an introduction, something that pushes them into the world so they know what’s going on and can get in the mood. On the other, they’re new lights. Literally. In the game world, ghosts are finding new Guardians all the time, so it makes sense that a newly risen Guardian would miss some of the big events and have to join in on whatever is happening presently. Maybe there could be a special curated “memories” playlist that has a simple narration telling you how the specific battle or mission fits in the grand scheme, and you can choose from a select list that rotates.

I said before that they should tie the older content as Events considering we really have very few events in Destiny as a whole We'd get like 3 Weeks to experience The Red War complete with a Legendary Difficulty while also giving Legacy Weapons back as either random rolls or Crafted (I'm not giving up on it) In regards of bringing back old planets, Honestly redesign Titan and Mercury along with Io, Mars looks like we'll see it back with a new coat of paint Titan could be a legitimate Sandy coast with a research facility in it with underwater tunnels and such Mercury could be centered around the entire Infinite Forest or more Temple like structures As for Io, I'm entirely sure what we could do to make it stand out

Narratively they’re going for one of those, you had to be there to experience it, realistically it could be technical limitations but with where we’re at in the story wise I’d rather them put time into the new content than to revamp cut content

I wish I could replay 1AU again. That mission was so awesome, from the enormity of the Almighty, going out to the sun side, the music, and finally disabling the weapon. Just epic.

As someone who has played since Destiny 1, Year 1 and has owned every ounce of DLC, the new player experience isn’t good. I recently made a second account to just see how the experience was, and it’s not good at all. The Cosmodrome quest line is fine, a step-up in terms of introducing some concepts to players, but after that… whew it’s rough. After killing Navota, it just becomes grind out XP to unlock destinations with no idea why we’re there or what we’re doing, or you can buy a DLC for a campaign with not much as an indicator of what to expect. After unlocking Nessus on the account, there was maybe text from Failsafe welcoming you to Nessus but not much else. No context as to why we’re there, the Vex just get thrown at New Lights with zero explanation. It somewhat makes sense lore-wise, but this is also supposed to be a game. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that there honestly should be some sort of short campaign that extends off of the Cosmodrome quest. And if the DCV complicates that, each destination without a campaign (EDZ, Nessus, and now the Dreaming City) could get a short, independent quest-per-planet that introduces players to the area. I get that base D2 is free-to-play, but the point of it being free is to lure people in and get them hooked. It’s hard to get people hooked when the free content is just XP farming and a raid that most free players won’t even touch.

They did it to gut free-to-play content, I don't care what Bungie's "official" reason is. Nobody played the content? Well no -blam!-; Bungie made sure updated gear didn't drop in the locations, so of course there was no incentive to play the content.

I have to admit, I get a little wistful when I drop into the EDZ. That and Nessus just feel a tad redundant nowadays...

Funniest part is all these fools falling for the whole "we'll bring it back later" bullshit. They aren't. They only said that to have a fall back to deal with backlash. In a year or two we'll be getting ready for Beyond Light and Shadowkeep to leave.
