How can I be sure the Name change token was distributed to my account?
The account name I have been using since I started D2 was scrubbed like most with the Cross-Play error and despite being informed by Bungie via the community updates that the new name change token was distributed to allow for players to fix their account name, every time I try to change it from the Generic "Guardian numbers" they forced me onto the name does not change when I click on Save Changes. There had been no issues with the name prior to the error so I do not know what the cause is for my name being unable to revert to what I was previously using.
Hey there, being able to enter and submit a name in your settings is confirmation that you do have a name change token available.
If you did not, you would not even be able to enter a new name, and it would say 'no name changes available' below it, in red.
The issue you are experiencing is that the previously changed name is still locked despite Bungie's attempt to unlock them. When a name is reset, it gets blocked from being re-used. Trying to use it again, or variants on it, will get rejected by the filter, the change won't go through, it just doesn't save, and doesn't really give any feedback to tell you this.
If you are trying to re-use your old name, you will have to wait for Bungie to provide another update on that. But you definitely do have a name change token for when that happens.
