MY GOD YOU GUYS THAT WAS THE MOST KICKASS MOVIE EVER YOU HAVE TO SEE IT YOU HAVE TO SEE IT.
JUST -blam!-ING AMAZING. Those were the best special effects I've seen in a while.
The movie was intense and full of awesome right from the opening and only let up when it was appropriate.
This is an action movie, and it doesn't -blam!- around pretending to be anything else. It's just pure adrenaline all throughout, which is great with the amazing special effects.
If you like action, Sci-Fi, monsters, or anything Guillermo Del Toro has ever made, you will love Pacific Rim.
10/10 will watch again.

I honestly didn't enjoy it that much. I liked the beginning, but that feeling quickly faded. I thought the effects were good, but the action itself was stale and boring. The love story thing just got in the way and was completely unnecessary to the plot. Also, it seemed like everything went too well. Almost every major character somehow survived in this grand suicide mission. (Don't even ask me about the nuclear meltdown at the end, that was just stupid.) My favorite part of this action movie was the two scientists conversing, because they were truly entertaining and unique. I really thought this was my kind of movie, and I expected more. 6/10, would not watch again. I liked World War Z better.

I've heard that Pacific Rim is stupid and cheesy, I will hopefully not be seeing it in theaters.

If I've got one problem with it:
The Russian and Chinese Jaegers got taken out WAY too quickly. Both of their attacks were so cool, and the designs were brilliant. I wanted to see way more from them. They hyped them up to be really powerful, but they got taken out under a minute, which was a shame.
Besides that, I loved it. The action sequences were great, though I felt the love interest stuff could have been left out.

Not that he was the greatest character in the movie, in fact he felt largely irrelevant, but Ron Perlman...
Apparently survived in the post-credits sequence!
Some parts strain disbelief, there are some minor pacing issues, and Hannibal Chao didn't really serve a legitimate purpose in the movie, but otherwise I highly enjoyed it. As I said in my own thread, it was my 2nd favorite movie of this year so far. I patiently await the sequel.

작성자: Master Chief 7/14/2013 8:23:42 PMWOW this movie is going to struggle financially. 190 million dollar budget, and it's projected to make only about 38 million dollars this weekend domestically. Oversea's, it's looking pretty tame as well. Both Despicable Me 2 and Grown Ups 2 beat this movie at the box office too, sad. Why do people want to see Grown Ups 2. About the movie itself, I enjoyed it, but it's not going to be one of those "BIG" movies I remember for a long time, such as The Dark Knight, Avengers, or the final Harry Potter.

To the people hating on this movie, please listen to this theme. I've had it on repeat since I came home from watching the movie.

The movie had the best action scenes in a movie that I had seen for a long time. But the movie had poor acting. 8/10
