Read to understand:
Because this is EVE, the intrigue leading up to one of these rumbles is often more entertaining than the fight itself—especially when it gets so large that time itself has to slow down to account for all the ships in the area of operation. According to an email EVE Online sent out today, more than eight Titans—these are the real bad mofos of the EVE fleet, capable of equipping a superlaser—have already been destroyed in the Battle of System B-R5RB. The belligerents are, once again, the N3 Coalition and the Cluster-blam!- Coalition (CFC), with other alliances assisting both sides.
What touched off this battle? A missed bill payment, basically.
"Earlier today an alliance in the N3 coalition missed a bill payment for the system where Pandemic Legion is staging and storing their fleets," writes EVE. "This missed bill caused sovereignty to drop across the system leaving the station vulnerable to capture. Seizing the opportunity, the CFC (Goonswarm Federation, Razor Alliance, Black Legion and the Initiative) and Russian Coalition (Solar Fleet, Darkness of Despair and Against ALL Authorities) captured the station."
Notes
-Started from a missed bill payment from the N3 Coalitiom, which "caused sovereignty to drop across the system leaving the station vulnerable to capture."
-N3 Coalition vs Cluster-blam!- Coalition (CFC)
-CFC (Goonswarm Federation, Razor Alliance, Black Legion and the Initiative) and the Russian Coalition (Solar Fleet, Darkness of Despair and Against ALL Authorities) captured the station.
-SO FAR, 57 TITANS have been destroyed in the battle
-OVER $430,000 worth of damage SO FAR, in TITANS ALONE
The battle is still going on as I type this up, and you can catch all of the action LIVE right here on Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/nick_fuzzeh
Sit back and enjoy the epic carnage that is EVE Online.

I've been trying to watch live streams of EVE for a few months now. I don't grasp the concept behind it or what you're suppose to do. It's probably just me. The only time I hear about it on various forum boards is when a massive battle happens.

These huge damn space battles and all im doing is using popguns in a 16v16 battle on Tue ground to destroy an MCC.I feel inadequate >.<
-
I heard CF was going to make a memorial of the battle with the wrecks of Titans nearby. Anyone that wants to can venture there to see the memorial which will be permanent.
-
I wish developers and publishers were super lenient so that BioWare/EA would allow Eve to spawn Reapers during large ass battles.

A shame EVE doesn't allow total ship control, rather than just point and click. If it did, I'd play it in a heartbeat.

That seriously looks boring. How do these people stand playing a game that looks like barely anything is happening... or even moving?

The ticker on the bottom of the stream is great. "CCP introduces 'New Player's Guide' to Eve, new players still confused."

These stories make me less and less interested in Eve. 6 months ago: "Epic battle in Eve, largest yet!" 5 months ago: "Epic battle in eve, largest yet!" 4 months ago: '' '' you get my point. Also, wayyyyy too much money tied up in that game. Even if it is just a real world equivalent on what it would cost to get back tomorrow.
