I would be so appreciative if someone here at Bungie or even a person who works at another game studio could reply to give me some tips as to good schools or programs that studios look for when hiring for positions. I am currently interested to pursue 3d modeling for either asset creation or even character design. I understand that there is a level of skill and experience one must have when applying but I am simply looking for some direction to lead me down the right path either if it's obtaining a degree from a university or attending an art institute. I have a real determination to get into the industry and looking for any sound advice. Thanks in advance for any help.

Blender is a good 3D modelling programme. It's also free, so it's at least a place to get started.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I appreciate all the help. I'll definitely get into unreal and start working on my skills.

As someone else suggested use unreal engine as it is free and does not require any knowledge of coding either, for modelling it's very difficult as really you have to pay for any 3d packages unless you are an enrolled student, though autodesk is one of the most used and has free trials if I recall correctly.

Don't ask bungie. They fired all the good devs. A good program would be Unreal Engine, as it is completely free and is the most cohesive design program I've ever seen.

I can say start networking now. Go on steam and find games not greenlit yet and ask if they want help once you learn some stuffs. Get to know people and that alone goes really far

Look into any game dev's careers page, the listings might give you a good idea of what kind of skills, experience or certification that they would be looking for.
