I have been out of the States for quite some time and will be going to visit my girlfriend in Cali at the beginning of September. I bought her Destiny a few months ago and we have a lot of fun the times we can play together (though she's still learning the ropes lol). As luck would have it, I will be in the States for the release of Destiny 2.
I will be attending the midnight launch at Gamestop - a ritual I will be experiencing for the first time. Naturally, I want my lady to go with me, but quite honestly I don't know what to expect going to a Gamestop midnight launch as this is new territory.
Will it be cringefest of chanting neckbeards, pulling on the locked Gamestop doors like overly eager black friday shoppers? Will it be a small crowd of pretty normal, chill people? Or will it be all of the above? I know the situation likely varies, but I would like to have some sort of general expectation.
TL;DR - What kind of experiences have you had going to a hyped midnight release?

Just curious why anyone would do this when digital version is available.?? Am I missing something.??

I live in Canada so not sure if my experience helps, but the last midnight launch i went to was for gta5. Overall pretty chill. Remember that everyone who goes to one of these things is a fan just the same. Hopefully your experience goes well

Edited by joey big guns: 8/18/2017 2:17:24 PMIn the past my friends and I went to midnight releases in the past and the GS in my town has always had some form of entertainment. The last time I went was a CoD release for either BO or BO2 and they had a dj, food, prizes. It was an all around good time. However, this is Destiny and I know on this app D2 was welcomed by about half of the people who responded to the polls I saw, maybe a bit more since some of them also had the option of I don't care I play with whatever so the midnight release might be that popular in some places. I've been to a BestBuy early release and it was pretty much the same, the prizes were better and dumber)m( who gives shooting glasses to people playing video games🤦♂️)
