When initially acquiring ritual/holiday/quest weapons they are masterwork from the start. These weapons include the old crimson days bow, felwinters lie, and null composure from the current season.
When you dismantle one of these, you are supposed to get masterwork version materials, such as about 4 enhancement cores.
When repurchasing them from collections, they arrive as the item level base of the season they’re from and masterworked as they’re a curated item.
A few days ago, I had repurchased my salvagers salvo and it arrived in my inventory as intended, masterwork and all.
Today I went to repurchase my null composure. It cost me usual legendary weapon material plus 7 cores.
It arrived in my inventory as not only base level and not masterworked, but has a middle slot between level upgrade and weapon mod where it’s blank. Can’t manually masterwork it and the slot doesn’t have any function.
This is a bug, clearly. So I decided to see if the problem works both ways. It does. I got a rainmaker consumable, weapon parts, and 4 legendary shards.
Bungie will probably ignore this so it’s a PSA at best. But if the support team does see it, you owe me a masterworked 1100 item level Null Composure. Dropping one in my tower mailbox is just fine by me. Feel free to take the materials from dismantling the broken version back from my inventory.
And maybe double check other pinnacle/ritual/holiday items that are masterwork at base level to make sure nobody else is getting screwed out of materials and time to use the item.
In fact, I’m not even sure the broken version I got will be able to contribute to the seasonal quests to get ornaments for it. So this really is time sensitive.
