Hear me out. First you pick if you want to focus on armor or weapons then you pick what tree of perks you want to focus on for example do you want to work on scopes or barrels. This would add something to do in form of searchin resources and instructions. You could be awarded with legendary manuals or parts from bosses or youd have to get a certain item from them. By allowing us to make our weapons like that wed get so much more variety. There could be levels in the professions and the higher your level the higher rarity gear you could make perks for. In the armor side of things but i think you should be abke to upgrade the defense stat. And now to the player trading. This would open up a perfect spot for trading.
