We all can agree the Laurea Prima emblem looks amazing. I salivate just thinking about it and it's great Bungie's trying to reward Year One players. However what sucks about it, is that it's too easy to obtain. There are two fundamental reasons why it's too easy to obtain, and they're as follows:
1. We have 62 days as of July 7th 2015 to complete these triumphs: That's a lot of time for such simple tasks. Pretty much everyone I know has gotten 90% of these done; noob and vet alike. If the deadline was something along the lines of 2 weeks, It'd mean a little more; but they gave us 2 full months! I will say this again to get it through everyone's heads: everyone and anyone can do this, so although it's true one must earn the emblem, it's barely earning at all when it's practically guaranteed for a majority of players.
2. The triumphs are too easy: What they want us to do as "triumphs" are just too easy. They want us to reach max level, kill Atheon, Crota and Skolas, destroy Crota's soul, capture Skolas, complete 50 public events (arguably the hardest one), get all golden chests, win 100 Crucible matches and destroy the Black Garden's heart. These things are barely triumphs at all, as many people including myself have done all of this months prior to learning about this emblem and the challenges barely require skill or time to complete. The reason why I say that, is that we've had a year to get all this done.]
The meaning of this post isn't to insult anyone or belittle the game; it's to share facts. On September 15th 2015, you'll all see a plethora of players using the emblem, thinking they're special, when in actuality, they're just like everyone else. Deej says one must earn it and he is right, but truly earning it wouldn't be so easy. Keep comments mature and respectful, and I'll see where all of you stand on this issue.

Agreed... At the very least they should give the emblems out as soon as its completed. At least then my whole friends list won't be the same emblem lol. That's what's gonna happen in September.

I havent been on lately, but once I heard about the emblem I found out that've I've done everything but skolas. That's probably the hardest to complete for me because I'm not playing destiny all the time.

The triumphs are everything we had to do in the game... Its not about how hard it is to obtain. Its about the journey of getting it, remembering your first VoG hard raid victory, remembering when you finally beat Skolas. Come on people, stop complaining about everything.

Been playing this on ps4 since the start & started playing this on xbox 3 weeks ago ive nearly done it all on xbox already only skolas n a few chests , day 1 players are getting fk all here! Most newbies are doing the raids about 3/4 level above standard so its easy , this thing is just bungie telling you to grind more not something for your past accomplishments

It might be too easy for you but to include all players and fireteams (like me and me friends) who aren't so good and still struggle on hard raids, doing everything is quite a challenge. All I've got to do now is Skolas but I'm finding it really difficult. If they make it harder to obtain they're not rewarding Year One players, they're rewarding Year One players who are really damn good at the game, excluding people like me. This would divide the community and make the people in the less capable section of the community feel incredibly frustrated.

The emblem will be speacial a few years from now, but I agree it is too easy to obtain. I already had all of them done except for the golden chests, because they are pointless

This emblem will only make some sense a couple of years from now and even then only partially, but who really cares right? It's just an emblem, it doesn't do anything nor does it change your game in any way. It's nothing but something for you to show off. However I do agree that for hardcore players that are way beyond 1000 hours in the game and are over 3500 grimoire points the requisites to "become legend" aren't exactly legendary.

I think it's pretty cool, I mean I think as long as your a year long player and complete all of the task then you have earned it. It's proof of your accomplishments in the first year of Destiny.If you are a true Noob than you wouldn't have completed every one of these task.

I think everyone should have started off with it blank, you have to do the VOG hard, do CE Hard, ect ect. I also think a few random challenges per location on Patrol should have been thrown in like kill 200 captains.

I look at it as a Jack of All Trades kinda award. Plus it pushes players to try some activities they haven't tried/finished yet. Also, kinda dislike the argument about people picking the game up today and completing it. Think about it if you were new and considering playing Destiny. A GOTY edition is going to be available in 2 months that will include all expansions up to that point for $60. Or you can buy the game now, and end up investing $100 like the rest of us in order to be able to have a chance to finish those requirements. If someone picked up the game today and finished all of those requirements (and remember some of them can be grindy like 100 Crucible wins and 50 public events), I feel like they should be rewarded as well. What if you had to start a new character and complete all of those challenges? And if you had to, remember you still have the advantage of knowing this game. You're not figuring it out like someone who would pick it up today. I don't disagree if you think there should be something hardcore. But I also think this isn't a bad idea either. I'm a Year One player (heck, even Day One). I was there at the loot cave. I remember when Master Rahool decoded purple engrams into blues. I remember when raiding parties didn't like Hunters because their grenades couldn't push the Templar off the map. I remember when the Crucible OP weapons were Suros and fusion rifles, and Thorn sucked. Some of my first legendary armor was from the Queens Wrath. I had to regrind some of my favorite exotics when TDB dropped. I was part of a fireteam that defeated Crota by pulling a network cable (only once). I hunted the Blades of Crota in the wild, and not just in one mission. I survived the great heavy ammo drought. I celebrated when I watched the Twitch stream for HoW and found out I can ascend my old weapons (still don't have a Fatebringer though). I've searched for Treasure Keys in ether chests and even left the area and came back for another chance. I still have a decent size stack of special ammo. I've helped push back the darkness and became a legend. Yes, you can look at my stats and criticize my k/d, my number of raid completions, how I only have two characters (and the 2nd isn't max level), and I haven't even killed Skolas yet. But that doesn't mean I haven't grinded and fought this first year. Yes, a bunch of us won't be special snowflakes come September and a bunch of us will have the emblem. But down the line, our numbers will dwindle and we can wear the emblem with pride. Because we were there in the beginning (even if you didn't pick up Destiny in the first couple of months). One last note: how many have the Tumbler sparrow? I'm amazed at how many times I get asked about it, and it's been 6 months since you couldn't get it anymore.

You're not thinking chum... They have given us until TtK because when the new dlc drops killing Skolas will be easier . I haven't killed Skolas because I can't do it by myself So for me I have more time to assemble a team It's not completing the benchmarks that requires time it's team building that takes time . There's no guarantee I can turn on my Xbox 360 and have someone help me . I really have to recruit a team and then it's usually ppl I have to carry /':(

Regarding point 1, Destiny hasn't been out for a year yet... Since it is a year one emblem, the 62 days (now less) is quite obvious.

It isn't meant to be hard. It's just to show that you have completed the main elements of the game in the first year of release. Not a big deal, it's just something for year one players to hold onto.

Well yeah it is easy if you carried through Atheon, CE, Skolas well Skolas is harder to carry noobs in your backpack I guess lol. The only thing I didn't have completed were the chests and I only needed two, the on moon that you have to jump down a hole and Mars tunnel on patrol.

The triumphs are not that easy for casual players and I think those are the ones this emblem is meant for. It's not a try-hard badge of honor, the exotic lighthouse emblem is such a thing, sadly we don't have an emblem for flawless raider It's also not a I-was-here-first emblem, we already have three of those... I think it's to show that you experienced more or less all the stuff that happened in year one, not more, not less...

Yeah haha that's so true even though I have like 17 more public events. If they threw in running a flawless raid and or a flawless trials passage then the emblem would mean something. I think bungie isn't really giving their veteran year one players any recognition because the triumphs are so flippin easy. Well except for those who have the golden chest glitch.
