It's Iron Banner again, which means that once again, people who don't normally play PvP are trying to remember how. This also means- yes, you guessed it- someone is on the forum telling them that they're opening the heavy ammo crates too soon.
There's a certain etiquette involved in opening the crate when you're on a team. If you're the only one at the crate, and there's no red on your radar, DON'T OPEN THE DAMN CRATE. I can't put it more clearly than that. Wait for the rest of your team so they get some heavy ammo as well.
Obviously, it's a judgement call sometimes. There may be a red line at the edge of your screen... in that case, is your team closer than the enemy? Can you wait for them? Or do you have an enemy bearing down on you, lusting for your chitlins, so that you have to pop the crate or risk losing it to the other team?
But other times, there's no judgement to be made. It's a clear case of seeing that half of your team is still converging on the crate, knowing that the enemy is nowhere in sight, and just not caring.
Yes, there's an announcement when heavy ammo is inbound. But on many maps, that's still not a lot of time to get to the crate from wherever one happens to be, especially since there's actual fighting taking place. Not everyone arranges their game around the drop timer. Sometimes it's just bad luck. Whatever the case, delaying a second or two is not going to cost you the game, and having a few more players with heavy ammo might actually affect the outcome. Many a loss has turned into a win, and vice-versa, based on some heavy kills at the right time.
Think about it next time you're tempted to open that crate all by yourself.

Unless it's maps like bannerfall where picking up heavy too late will see to it you get a nice Truth shell up the sphincter.
-
I'm more of a chitlin luster! - love depriving the enemy more than picking up ammo.
-
Dang straight son. Nothing but respect
-
they give you a 15 second warning. if you arent there, too -blam!-ing bad, you missed it. sucks to suck
-
If I am the only one at the Heavy spawn, I will wait until the Radar turns red. Once it blinks red, I press X. If you are not there, than your loss.
-
Pvp is war. There are no rules during war.
-
Pvp etiquette lol

This only works so well until you see a red blob on your radar. We waited yesterday continuously for most if not all to make it only to get screwed over by enemies with supers coming to wipe us out. And then screams from those that weren't quite there yet to pick it up and more from those of us trying to be nice and wait for them to come get it. It works quite simply - you get 15 seconds to decide which one to go for and we'll give you an additional couple of seconds if you're close, but after that it's tough luck cause in all likely hood we'll all die waiting around for you. That isn't the same of course for the 1 guy that grabs it and runs, but typically that's the guy playing solo and just trying to get the bounties done.
-
Seems like a lot of people read this one and tried to follow it... Yesterday waiting for the 6th teammate to approach the heavy, and whilst waiting we got shot, because we all were stupidly enough waiting too long. Won't happen again...
-
Nah it's announced before it drops..its up to the other team mates to pay attention..I'll rarely wait.
-
I more often than not am that guy who goes after the enemy during heavy drop ....nothing more satisfying than void bombing multiple enemies denying them heavy and gaining multiple kills while my team mates load up.
-
It's always nice when people wait and the most players possible get heavy but I would rather somebody be impatient than let the enemy get it.
-
I pick it up if the big red part comes on my map, not just the line. Otherwise I will wait for teammates.
-
While waiting is good, its also bad due to giving the opposing team time to set up/attack heavy crate. My rule of thumb is to wait at least ten sec.
-
When I still haven't done the bounty in IB for heavy kills, watch out. Because I don't care if there's no one around and you are 10 feet from me, that box is getting opened and I'm running for the kill. So save yourself. I won't. I still have 1 more heavy to get I think. So hope you're not in my next game.
-
This may be the single most aggravating thing about iron banner...
-
Worse is when the first person who makes it first while youre holding the heavy takes it without waiting, like you were waiting just for him lmfao.
-
Nah man I'll open it don't worry lol

Edytowany przez użytkownika Use A Primary: 4/28/2016 9:53:35 PMI'll wait about 5-10 seconds, after that you miss out. The other team is going to pull theirs and if they see you didn't pull yours they are bringing rockets to it. Too many times have we waited for one fool who was on the other side of the map and we get rocketed or slammed or nova'd. NO MORE. Get to heavy when its there or miss out. I'm not waiting any more than a few seconds.
-
I hate the new heavy ammo changes so much that my keyboard is dripping with salt. haha Now I have 1 shot to nab the ammo in a match and potentially get the bounty kills. Talk about completely taking the fun out of that. Just remove heavy weapon kills from the bounties. Heck, remove heavy weapons from the game if you don't want us to use them.
-
Bring back players dropping heavy ammo when they're killed while holding it Make it 2 drops a game Heavy ammo is supposed to be a major objective. Complaining that getting it or the other team getting both means major points for them is like complaining that the team controlling 2/3 flags in control always wins

Edytowany przez użytkownika ChimiBuckets: 4/28/2016 7:07:35 PMok but here's my thought, so if they wait for you, and lets say a titan or one of those damned warlocks comes and FoH or Panic bombs, the ENTIRE team and now we dont have heavy and will then proceed to get reamed by quillims' and eluim's and other heavy shit because you feel that people gotta wait for ya? the other side of this coin is, if you respawn no where near your team's heavy ammo then why even bother running to go get it, why not take one for the team and try to take out the other bastards while theyre grabbing the heavy, nom' sayin? heavy ammo helps alot, but so does you shitting a few birds and not have so many damned heavies on the other team running around. just sayin #NoBeef lol
-
The only time I open a crate without my team is when I open one to keep the other team from getting it. I always check to see if my team is on the other before anyway.
-
If there's red on the radar, I'm opening the damn crate, because I know I'm about a half second away from being grenaded.

Curious, as I dont tend to play IB when it is Clash... Think its been twice so far? Not including today. Mainly because I find it not fun. The first week it was almost every match was against at least a team of 4 with two randos. And it was a Camp the Heavy fest. Now I was solo and most of my team was so that was why it wasnt fun for me. Anyways my point is that now with only 1 heavy, is it like this still in the first 5 minutes? I dont have time this week to play anyways, jw.
