Less than 10 days to the much anticipated No Man's Sky's release and we as a forum seem to be split up. Some of us think it will flop, some of us think it will do what it is supposed and be a cool indie game, and some of us think it will go above and beyond.
So, #gaming? What score do you predict No Man's Sky will get? Reasons are always welcome in the comments but a poll vote is enough. I prioritized the top 30 percentile because 5 points on that end of the scale means a lot more than 5 points on the other end.
I will edit Metacritic reviewer score into the post once the game comes out (if this post is still alive) since that is an average of all professional reviews.
Edit1: Some people are saying "Metacritic makes terrible reviews," these people do not know how Metacritic works. Metacritic averages a very large amount of professional reviewer reviews. It is a good way to see the average score that a game got. Their user reviews are a different story, never trust them.
Edit2: So many IGN jokes...
Thank you for your time.

I'm on xbox so I'll be crying as I read other ratings
-
Can I get it on Xbox?
-
It looks to be a solid 7/10
-
Don't know but the only opinion I care about is my own
-
Well I'm not even remotely interested in that game so it doesn't matter to me.

Edytowany przez użytkownika ThirteenJesters: 8/6/2016 5:18:46 AMHonestly I'm skeptical about it. I love exploration games for the most part but the thought of playing a solo exploration game that also lacks much of a story leaves me with a bad feeling about it. I think the reviews will depend on how similar the planets are, the amount of time it takes to do all the activities, and the sense of progression. If it feels like the planets are all different, the activities are varied, and you're constantly improving some aspect of something all the time it will probably get 9/10 scores. If on the other hand all of that is not true and it gets stale quickly it will probably be closer to 6/10-7/10.

I don't know

Loving the IGN "not CoD - 4/10" posts. My first thought as well. Glad i'm not alone on that one.

Edytowany przez użytkownika wojo55: 8/6/2016 1:17:53 AMIt's just another survival/ creative game with no real point. Just like others in it's genre I'm sure the scores will be average in most places or 8 which is slightly above average. Some may be lower just cause they hyped it up not knowing what kind of game it was
-
Well, considering someone "beat" it in 30 hours, I am sure that the review scores will reflect how short the game can be.
-
I think it will get lower than it deserves because of all the jaded critics that don't like games and the disappointed hype train that thinks it's their savior.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Lordbakon: 8/4/2016 7:33:06 PMI love how people are bringing up the guy who got to the center in NMS in 30 hours. Let's do a little fact check: 1. He rushed. His sole ideal was get to the center of the universe. He didn't take the time to wander around planets, find all the shit. etc. 2. He used (from what I've heard now patched) exploits. He used exploits that allowed him to get minerals and cash faster to get better ships and such faster. So yeah, you can get to the center in 30-40 hours ish. That's not the point however. NMS is about the journey, not the destination. It's about exploring the planets, finding the creatures and unraveling secrets. It's about naming creatures (which I bet 99% will have Dick somewhere in the name), about all that stuff, not just rushing to the end. Well, that's my rant out of the way. I personally think it'll score pretty well, it that's just me. There are a lot of people who will disagree, but that's them.

"Found a planet in the Hoenn system with too much water. 7.8/10" -IGN

9/10 - ign Pros: in space like CoD Cons: Not CoD (or we would have given it a 9.5)

Probably a 6/10 or 7/10 from the critics.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Psyntifik: 8/3/2016 3:46:34 PMI found out today that there's only 5 languages to decipher. I won't lie, that bugs me. I reckon it will get roughly 8/10. But even Destiny got 9's and 10's.
-
If this is based off of metacritic reciews it will get bad ones because metacritic is horrible
-
Whilst I hope it does brilliantly (as with any game I pick up, and some I don't), I'm realistically expecting low 80s. The sheer scale will likely lead to notable technical bugs, similar to most TES and Fallout games, and I'm not convinced many critics will enjoy the survival grind as much as I hope to.
-
About an 80. I've always had a bit of a boner for space exploration (thanks Star Trek), but this will more than likely end in overkill. At some point, probability states that a lot of the planets will look nearly identical. There is no way in Hell that they can make a quadrillion truly unique planets. That's just out of the realm of human possibility.
-
Let's be honest here, metacritic is a shit review platform.

Do we really care about review scores?
