Just reading the update news and noticed this... "We noticed that players felt Lost Sectors were useful, but disliked the fact that they couldn’t enjoy them with a fireteam, so we moved the faction tokens from the destructible items to the chest at the end of the activity. The destructibles will still be featured as a daily milestone and are still available to help your fireteam clear out the Lost Sector."

This is a sad ass lie period. They didn't like the fact that during the last faction rally, people simply destroyed the items for tokens and farmed to the max number of packages without having to mind numbingly complete the useless sectors every time.
If they wanna make this change to try and keep people playing longer, that's what should be said, not this sad ass lie about wanting to do sectors with a fireteam. Like whose ass did they even pull that out of. Not even a good lie for christs sake. smh. I'm sure I'm like many people who wont even bother to touch this faction crap after the first one anyway but damn Bungie, grow some -blam!-ing balls and tell the truth...

They always find ways to nerf things.

Edytowany przez użytkownika DSharp018: 11/3/2017 4:06:39 PMClearly you don't recall the loot cave. The way people were playing the lost sectors was in all principle the same concept. Playing the game in a way that wasn't intended to try and get more rewards, even if the gameplay method itself is more boring. Almost every gameplay affecting change bungie has done has been around the idea that the gameplay should not be a literal grinding loop.
-
I thought they changed the name to "Friend Sectors" ....maybe not....☹️
-
First, the complaint certainly was made, and by all accounts, it is at odds with some of the core design philosophies of the game. Any component of this game that can be enjoyed solo (lost sectors) should be equally, if not more enjoyed, with friends/others. Not less enjoyed, as was the case with the first faction rally. Now sure, this likely wasn't the main reason they pushed this change, but I think your expectation of that sort of explanation is faulty. That just isn't how communication is done these days. They're going to spin it to make it sound good. And seriously, can you really fault them for wanting to remove counter-intuitive farming methods? This absolutely needed to change. The way it was set up wasn't fun.

Lost sectors lmao What a joke!

Edytowany przez użytkownika Ve7n00m: 11/3/2017 1:56:18 PMWell it's no lie, they just twisted it in favour of them looking like the good guys, for instance.... Their numbers tell them a high number of players are going in and out of lost sectors solo instead of doing them in a fireteam, their numbers also told them those players wern't opening the chest at the end. You can see where they got what they're saying from, they just made it sound like they're doing us a favour when the reality is we were just grinding a boring event as quickly as possible
-
How can you not play a lost sector with a fireteam? Like, how is that a thing? We always hit up LS as a fireteam. It's how you make it not super boring. You talk about like, stupid shit.

Edytowany przez użytkownika bandito--24: 11/3/2017 3:31:11 PMYep, it is a lie. The change was implemented to prevent farming. Now it will take a lot more play time to earn faction packages. The gear is not worth the time, so I will not be playing much or grinding at the next rally. I will likely play until I get the dead orbit cloak. Did not get that in 30+ packages last rally.
-
I saw that too and laughed my ass off. You are right. They dont want to put on paper about the glitch
-
Yep, their most BS statement yet.
-
It's spin. When people exploit the game Bungie doesn't ban people in pve. They just remove it from the game. People were using an exploit during last FR where they'd run into Lost Sectors. Shoot the enemy supplies. Run back out, instantly reset the dungeon, rinse and repeat. Just like the Loot Cave of vanilla Destiny, Bungie doesn't want their game played that way. So they remove the incentive to do so. ...and they don't have to scold anyone.
-
Yeah, I don't know why they couldn't just say that people were abusing the destroyable crates and that they wanted to push people towards doing other activities. I'm a solo player, so I can't speak for people that play in fireteams, but I can't imagine the crates dropping tokens bothered anyone.
-
Can you elaborate further on what an ass lie is?
-
Well darn. Now I can't get 200 faction tokens a day anymore. This is almost like the loot cave incident in year 1...
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Corrick II: 11/3/2017 2:40:48 PMEven I had to squint at this one. The only reason those were there was for the tokens, so what are they for now? Another explodey thing? This was a silly excuse for a "fix" that makes little sense. I get that they don't want people to just farm, but why not make the caches like smaller chests that every player can "open"? There were other solutions, this just makes Lost Sectors even more useless now.
-
It takes about 3 minutes to solo clear most lost sectors, so who really cares? Rinse n Repeat destructibles was a mindless grind. Faction gear is inferior anyway. I just don't see the problem here.
They didn't like the fact that during the last faction rally, people simply destroyed the items for tokens and farmed to the max number of packages...
They've never liked it when players farm the hell out of an area; remember the Loot Cave?
...without having to mind numbingly complete the useless sectors every time.
You think completing a Lost Sector is "mind numbing" but spending hours repeating the same thing to get tokens isn't?
...not this sad ass lie about wanting to do sectors with a fireteam
It's not a lie. If you were in a fireteam, only the person that actually destroyed the cache got the tokens, now everyone in your fireteam gets tokens. What's the problem.
