Unlike in D1, I find myself to always caught in a losing match right after I get a crushing win. Happens everytime, literally. Even friends that I have mentioned this to have said the same thing happens to some of their games. Anybody else notice this?
Most of the player base that I look up have 40%-60% win ratio. It's rare that I find a player with anymore or less. Regardless how good or bad they may seem. This has begun to kick in really hard since SBMM was put into the game.
Edit: to go into more detail, this is about gameplay manipulation. To the point where your asking yourself in gameplay:
"How are my hits not registering?"
"Why was my grenade canceled out despite me throwing it before I got shot down ?"
"How has the other team caught up by that much in such short time?
"What's up with my head shots registering as body shots?"
Etc...manipulation is the key word on this topic. What are the little things that cause us to stay around a 50% win/lose ratio?
I'm sure the answer should be clear now for those who have just read with out giving the topic some thought. To those who understood right away, thank you
Edit#2: wow, this is trending. Was expecting more hate to be honest. I'm surprised.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Cosmic Owl: 1/30/2020 11:54:29 AMI had such a bad example of this in the last two days. I was two games away from Mythic 2 now I’m back down to half way through Fabled 3. Just the most god awful performance, dropped team mates, horrible MM, and so on after have a great streak of wins. I’m talking point blank shot gun hits doing no damage, getting hit by all three HC shots at once (or so it seems). Honestly I’ve given up on getting to Legend, not because I don’t think I can do it all things considered equal but there’s just too many shitty games. Maybe some people get lucky and have good performance most of the time but for me it’s just all over the damn place. I think I’d like to see dedicated servers with CBMM. So that even those of us playing from far away would still get matched with players of similar ping. Also routing services could cut down on lag and help stabilize connections. This P2P shit is either really good or really -blam!-ing bad. And I’m a little tired of the variation. I shouldn’t be going from 1 kill and a .2 to 25 kills and a 1.92 and I’m not exaggerating. That’s not skill that’s just connection.
-
Why does everyone act like their skill level is locked? What is stopping you from improving other than not wanting too. If you think its rigged that way then it means you are playing people better than you 60% of the time and worse 40% of the time. Why don't you just try and get better instead of complaining? If it really was rigged (which it obviously isn't) then if they fixed it for YOU someone else would be complaining.
-
All I know is when I have a good win streak going and log off, the next time I get on, I get matched into already in progress matches when my team is just a few deaths from getting mercied OR put on lopsided 3 v 6 match, where I’m part of the 3.
-
Every other match shouldn't be a waffle stomp. I shouldn't be the top player one match the bottom player next match back an forth. Win one lose one. I use to have a efficiency of 1.48 I'm now at 1.36 My kd use to be 1.5 now it's 1.0.. That's trash. Some of you think it's not rigged. It is, if your a solo player. I shouldn't be paired with people that are Straight up terrible making me carry there weight. If games were balanced, every game should me a close match. Not 40-100.
-
It's the matchmaking and the matchmaking alone. SBMM will keep you at a 50% W/L and a 1.0K/D, because if you play well, you match better players, and if you keep playing well, you'll continue to match better players until you match people you cannot beat, and then your stats plateau.
This has begun to kick in really hard since SBMM was put into the game.
This isn't a coincidence, this is the reason. This is what SBMM does. There is no "gameplay manipulation." Most of the things you listed can be explained by latency or lag, and the enemy team catching up is either you just not paying attention to the score or you playing a mode that is easy to come back in (i.e Control or IB.) SBMM also means more lag for everyone, but hey, this is what people wanted, so.
-
What is this tinfoil-head bullshittery all over again? Like seriously is bungie now the evil government or what? I'm sitting at 80% winrate soloQing to Legend, playing IB very underleveled and doing more than 10 full Glory rank resets I guess I'm just lucky eh? "How are my hits not registering?" Destiny 2 is still pear-2-pear so yeah, registration issues due to latency happen. "Why was my grenade canceled out despite me throwing it before I got shot down ?" Grenades and other abilities only go through once the full animation has been played. "How has the other team caught up by that much in such short time?" No idea, maybe your team played bad? "What's up with my head shots registering as body shots?" You are most likely incapeable of hitting headshots despite this games insane hitboxes and bullet magnitism. So yeah. Just play better, and dont wear tinfoil heads.
-
How about we get rid of the rank up animations that take up the entire screen and you can’t see anything for a good 30 seconds.
-
Now if only there was an incentive to win and it would matter. Just go pew pew and have fun, it's only a video game.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Noble 6: 1/27/2020 6:47:43 PMUmmm... yes? This is how matchmaking in any game works that isn't just connection based. If a game constantly puts you against opponents of roughly the same skill-level, then OF COURSE you'll have close to a 50 % win-rate. If you improve, you'll get matched against better players. Most games have some version of this in most of their playlists. This is completely normal, I'll never understand why only Destiny players make such a big deal out of it. This isn't "rigged" or "forced" 50/50. If you get matched against players of your skill, you'll generally win as much as you lose. Imagine thinking this is some sort of conspiracy, Jesus Christ... EDIT: So some people think there is ACTUALLY a conspiracy in which Bungie "rigs" the game while you're in a match so you lag more or more of you bullets miss etc. And honestly, if you believe that... you're beyond help. You probably also believe they faked the Moonlanding or 9/11 was an inside job or somehting.

Stop the nonsense. Just get out there with your Spare Rations (Auto Head Shots), Fusion Rifle (Take your pick), and Warcliff. Get Good NeWb!
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika J.Ko: 1/28/2020 9:44:40 AM40-60% win ratio means that SBMM works well as you are matched with similar skill players, so sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
-
Nobody understands matchmaking systems I swear...
-
Second reply. Name a game where a single person has over a 70% win rate. Highest I've ever gotten is 56% in For Honor Duels.
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Guardian6161: 1/29/2020 4:23:55 AMYeah this is largely because of SBMM matchmaking mechanics. It constantly fluctuates between slightly lower and slightly higher than your skill level or somewhere in between. The idea is that matches will always be a fair fight, but in practice it results in players winning then getting stomped once they win, and then when they get stomped, they end up in lower skill, so they win, and rinse and repeat from. This is why it is 40-60% for most players. In theory it should be roughly 50%, but with different modes, maps, and loadout options, things deviate further.
-
It's borderline criminal. Matchmaking is rigged, lag is all over the place, hit registration is a mess. Their current developers are monkeys with keyboards. Oh, good ol' Bungie, where did you go?
-
It's real. I had it happen today. I point blank Eritiled the same player 3x only to have him take no damage. The match was over with in no time. MERCIED. It was if my team was full of nothing but bots.
-
It’s true. It’s a catch-up, skill-gap mechanic. Blizzard does the same shady, manipulative crap with Overwatch.
-
Hell ya this is trending. Bungies in game programming determines how well or how poorly your match will go. Some games you are freaking Superman and you rattle off 40 plus kills with ease. Other games you can't even get a shot off. I think crucible bounties provide some unknown buffs... I've noticed that some of my best games happen when I have a fresh batch of crucible bounties? Anyone else notice this?
-
If I had a good game, and start the next game well I can almost guarantee when I die I’ll spawn next to 3 enemies... then next to heavy then next to every super... happens too regularly to be a coincidence Also my shotgun becomes way less consistent
-
That's how math work my dude It's a natural distribution of probability 🙃🙂

Edytowany przez użytkownika Lost Sols: 1/27/2020 9:29:32 PMIt's called the law of averages. Most players are going to be in the middle in skill with not huge differences in overall skill level. That's why a 1.0 is an average kd and why a 50% win-loss is an average win ratio. It's why if you flip a coin enough times, you end up with around a 50% ratio. This isn't rocket science and 40-60% is to be expected to be the median in any sporting environment with smaller numbers at each extreme. But keep pushing conspiracy theories I guess, because Bungie isn't rigging the system this year to make sure top players never have to play anyone near their own skill level. Which btw, skill in matchmaking looks to give both teams a closer to even chance of winning, not to manipulate your success. Going into games with one team having a 90-100% chance of winning before a shot is fired isn't good game development. Thanks.
