Spoiler warning
Recent lore indicates that Crow had a pretty bad time with the insurgents who went to the Eliksni camp. While any guardian has their devils lurking behind them the given fact is will he be able to resist the pull when Mara tells him the real truths about himself.
Will that speech during harbringer actually hold true or will he subvert back to his old ways?
My bet is old ways.

Guess you do not call yourself hellfire for nothing.
-
no. crow will not be uldren. he may come close, especially when he finds out the truth, and there may be a time where he’ll question who he should be, but i have faith that in the end he will choose to be crow.
-
He did nothing wrong, we have no reason to believe he is anything other than protective of the eliksni
-
You have to remember that the uldren we met in D1 and D2 Y2, was corrupted by darkness. There is old lore that states he was a very different guy until he and his friend entered the black garden against his sisters wishes. After that day he started acting different and of course in forsaken he was partly taken.

Imma say crow came out of this in the best case scenario. He was able to disperse the gang without the need to pull the trigger. And while a death or two wouldn't be preferable, it's STILL a deterrent.

Crow lives a different life than Uldren; as identities, they are two different people because they live different lives and made different life experiences. However technically speaking, Uldren and Crow are both the same people with the same brain. Personalities are largely formed through nature and nurture eg. Your physical brain structure and the way you’re raised/your influences. We can’t change his nature, but we can change his influences thus his personality. For this reason I don’t think “Uldren” is a static personality and I do not think he will make a full revert. What this means in terms of story. I can see Bungie taking Crow’s character down another dark arc, as with a lot of characters leading up to the witch queen. From a story writing perspective I don’t think it’s likely crow will ever fully revert back to uldren, but there is a lot of potential drama with his character waiting to happen. Bungies definitely gonna do something big with him.

Cayde would have done the same thing , just ended with a joke *Sorry bout that fellas, guess you can say humanity has Fallen*........... "Coughs to break silence" *Any you guys want ramen?*

I want to kill him again so I hope so
-
Turns em into Scorn... ...old ways...
-
He didnt slaughter everyone and essentially scares them off. I dont see anything wrong in that. He was able to diesacalate without any death. If anything his ghost was worse.
-
The actions he took there actually show a protective kindness that Uldren really didnt have. He sees the eliksni as people of the city, he was friends with many of them, and his job as a guardian is to defend the people of the city. It's the situation he was in that was dark, where the people have to be defended from the other people. I doubt we see him act as Uldren again. We have seen too much difference in their actions.

Old ways so we can kill him!
-
I woulda just shot him. Not kill him— just a shot to the foot or leg.
-
Crow (the guardian) has spent most of his life living among Eliksni. He has also shown many times that he is compassionate and doesn’t glorify violence in any form. I think his reaction was completely understandable and not at all indicative of someone displaying narcissistic or arrogant qualities which Uldren was known for.

Just means I’ll have to shoot him again.
licks finger
The only thing I can say with some certainty is that if crow had to pick between blasting a human or eliksni he would blast the human every time. Both pre death and post death lol.
