It’s just a cheap ploy from the suits and bean counters to artificially increase player engagement and population numbers for upper management teams to look good for their stock holders and investors.

Edytowany przez użytkownika CookieNiki: 10/8/2024 7:29:15 PMAdding power grind won't change anything, the player numbers won't increase to the point they want. Like it or not, Destiny saga has come to an end and everything they're doing now is trying to make it last as much as they can because its the only source of money they have. If they REALLY wanted to keep Destiny going on as a franchise, they would've made Destiny 3 to launch after the 10 year saga ended, at the beginning of 2025. As a 2014 veteran Destiny player, I want a NEW Destiny, with new worlds, with a new, less convoluted, better explained and better delivered story, completely new weapons and armor, new mechanics, new core activities and a new philosophy from Bungie towards the game. I surely don't need or want MORE Destiny 2 in any shape or form.
-
Personally I love grinding for that perfect roll, it’s a destiny staple.. we need more grind going forward…
-
Bungie too busy catering to the rainbow Mafia that will report you for speaking up about the last episodes being hollow/pointless and streamers that don't touch grass, this whole dlc has been proof of that, games dead ,company's going under slowly , I'm not the captain and I ain't sinking with the ship. Game had over 300k to 500k players on dlc release to loose 90% of that in the first 2 months but even that wasn't enough to show bungie the constant nerfs and catering to streamers had completely killed the game. The final shape should of been named the final tutorial, since its a tutorial on how to kill a 10yr franchise and practically everything worth doing in the game requires watching a tutorial. ALSO BUNGIE WHY THE ACTUAL F AM I RECIEVEING PRIVATE MESSAGES FROM PAID CARRIES, ITS JUST AS BAD AS A DRUG DEALER SELLING DRUGS FROM THERE LOCAL POLICE STATION INFRONT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT, THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE AFTER HOW MANY YEARS NOW BUNGIE? !!!

Go play cod
-
do we really have to delete all are armour and get new cause of the system change?
-
Well, logging in for red borders was basically only thing I did for good while. So if they aren't providing those, then I'll just have less reasons to log in and load into different areas.
-
They are just going back to their roots before Joe Blackburn drove the game into fire. MMO's including this game have 3 pillars, seasonal power level, weapon and armor grinding, and skill gap with harder content providing top tier loot that is 2nd to none. You want the best stuff? You personally have to apply yourself and commit to getting better. If you want a gun with a specific roll? Your going to have to grind until you get it. Luke Smith brought a WoW esq game to the FPS realm and made D1. Activision was losing COD in 2017 and tried to make D2 their new eSports game. Joe Blackburn tried to make a game for everyone which is a game for no one. Tyson Green is starting where Luke Smith left off. Thank God.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Magiscene: 10/8/2024 12:15:46 PMI’m so glad I didn’t buy the next season. The seasonal weapons not being craftable is the stupidest decision. It’s just a cop out to abuse fomo to get engagement numbers up. People saying crafting killed the game crack me up. They act like raids and seasonal content are the only content in the game. Last I checked nightfalls and dungeons are still a thing. seasonal weapons and raid weapons are all we get Added to the crafting pool and that’s it. People can still grind dungeons, nightfalls and everything else just fine. I can’t wait to see all the posts next season of people complaining about bad rng like when onslaught first came out. I’ll have my popcorn ready.
-
Yet it will do the opposite and all the people with jobs will just not bother buying the seasons since it's too ridiculous of a grind to get anything decent.
-
I think its funny that people act like crafting outside of seasonal stuff wasn't a grind in of itself & crafting for seasonals was to make new players want to come in not to engage the hardcore. Plus its not every drop was a red border heck it may not even be the gun you want. Everyone screaming about "casuals" ruining the game when if we were really honest with ourselves Destiny has been a circle jerk of the same nonsense with a different coat of paint. People will gladly grind random rolls if the loot we get is plentiful enough to atleast attempt to compensate (Onslaught before the pool became so diluted) but we can't sit there and say "Oh you don't want to play the game." When raid and dungeon exotics exist not to mention their period of random rolls people still grind to this day for and yet does anyone every say Wow I'm so happy after my 50th clear that I got the weapon no. Its god I'm done with this actvitity. People equate Grind=fun in this community and forget that we should enjoy the actvitity itself.
-
So am I understanding this right, am I losing all my artifact levels tomorrow and ultimately leveling down?
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Reprimer: 10/6/2024 4:22:28 PMCrafting ruined the loot grind for most people and get over the power level thing. It’s 10 levels. Do I really need to do the Destiny casuals moment when they have to play the game gag again?
-
Burn the franchise and run type beat
-
Once again all of these ideas came from the streamer community who doesn't represent the average player's engagement. If I do play Destiny 2 now I really don't want to hang around grinding away at nothing. I want to get in and get out before I really get sick of things. The very issue with Destiny is that people spend too long in the game doing absolutely nothing. It just breeds hostility over time because the Devs only make this game for themselves and their own agenda. It's a one way street. I enjoy it and then I want to leave. Making me stay by adding level grinding and forcing random drops instead of crafting just makes me want to play less, not more Have you not learned anything from your recent player purge Bungie? You need to earn my money from here on out
-
It’s a controversial topic, hardcore players will always go for non crafting while relatively newer players would prefer craftable. But 5/5 rolls would be a pain to grind due to RNG, those who adopted xbox/ps5/pc as their other halves won’t have issues but for casuals, it might affect them very badly.. good news is we already have lots good weapons craftable so this might not impact that much
-
Crafting was always a double edged sword. In some ways I miss grinding for god rolls in other ways I don’t. I gladly welcome none craftable weapons. It’s a lowkey a hot topic and shouldn’t be viewed negatively just because you can’t craft everything. Go grind.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Yosemite Sam: 10/6/2024 3:06:33 PMToo bad they don't know how to design a game and because they are so cheap and lazy as a developer, this is why Destiny was turned into a wannabe live service game that this business thought they could do what Fortnite has done, and in the process, they have lost millions of gamers and the player base is still slowly but surely dropping off. They have made themselves look ignorant as a developer, and are constantly proving they don't know what they are doing as a developer. That is 100% fact, the game literally shows it. Thanks to Pete, the game will never be anything other than a wannabe Fortnite with a Luke Smith special, the guy that paid gamers to play his character in WoW.

The issue with this change to crafting again falls back on poor implementation. There was a way to still have the grind exist, while keeping crafting as part of the season. Warframe does it perfectly imo. After new content drops they usually have an event tied to the new warframe. Running the mission gives you a chance at having parts drop, but ALSO gives you a currency that allows you to buy everything in game after an amount of grinding. The only change they needed to make was to remove the guaranteed red borders every week, and have them only be random drops. That way, you still have to grind to get the crafted version with the exact rolls that you want, but if you got lucky you’d have the roll and wouldn’t need to keep forcing yourself into the content. Add onto the non-crafted version the ability to give it enhanced perks, and you implement bad luck protection while still keeping the incentive to grind. Of course, that wouldn’t work for good ole bungo for some reason, so they just did away with crafting entirely, making an already burnt out playerbase even more frustrated.
-
I waiting for it to inevitably backfire lol reversing two of the few changes the community actually wanted? What could go wrong. Honestly having red borders increased my time. Otherwise I’d be settling for the two main perks combo I want like everyone else. Back to that I guess. Maybe they could throw us a bone with a working collection system so they don’t clutter the vault?

Edytowany przez użytkownika YaTEdiGo: 10/6/2024 9:07:54 AMLike they ALWAYS DID, this game has some of the worst engagement and FOMO practices I ever seen in my gamer life, just quit, BUNGIE is nowadays an awful company. First they made us grind for red borders when the majority hace them, they are gone, buffing nerfing buffing nerfing… And this is what it always been.
-
They are removing craftable weapons?
-
for power level yeah, not a problem but with a power cap system in the game for 99% of the activity grinding power outside the dlc is kinda stupid. removing crafting at the start of the season on other hand is a good move since crafting made the game ultra mega casual For guns a better move will be removing enhanced perks from crafted guns and make tier guns do more damage inside pve
-
Edytowany przez użytkownika Guardian,Archon Of Light: 10/6/2024 8:54:51 AMNo, it's a step to turn D2 back into a looter shooter instead of COD with extra steps Yeah , it will shed some casuals, but the grinders playing First Descendent and Warframe will have a reason to return, (IDK though, ultimate Freyna is coming Oct 10th lol) And the game is at the lowest player count ever with free power and crafting, we are back at D2 Vanilla, which proves the more watered down the game is, the less successful it is They still need to make XP mean something besides duplicate loot from eververse, and the too short season pass/artifact chase
-
Personally I love grind… think we need even more…
-
You ever been in a terrible relationship and your partner says "I'll change. I promise I can do better" and they make a twenty percent effort that lasts two months before doing something ridiculous or going back to their old -blam!-?
-
You just figure this out?
