Bungie, you done GOOFED!!
While new weapons and seasonal updates are always welcomed, personally I think developers should rethink with the implementing game mechanics, in their games, talking about potions and tonics.
Seriously though I think no one wanted this stuff. It’s way, boring and overcomplicated for no reason. You have to keep mashing buttons, going to different locations within the area of the table just to craft something and it’s just a waste of time. Just give us gear, new weapons, ornaments, a totally new super, hell, maybe a new PVE mode, but potions and tonics? Man, this stuff is ridiculously boring! Love playing Nightfalls, Trials maybe some seasonal events but this potion stuff is nonsense and honestly at this point I think a lot of people don’t care about this stuff.
One way to start off, at least simplify the crafting. It’s not hard to craft, but it’s just plain tedious all the things you have to do. One button to craft not walking around in a room to different tables and objects just to craft a silly potion. No disrespect, but this stuff is trash.

Seriously, this tonic -blam!- is the most horrible thing i've ever experienced in my entire gaming life, completely unnecessary and needlessly convoluted for such a childish thing like making some cute drinks. Marathon will be dead on arrival so bungie thought it'd be a good idea to REALLY -blam!- the bed by releasing this abomination.

“You done goofed” After a serious paragraph “Seriously though” And the great “Simplify the crafting of tonics” When it takes 5 seconds to craft any amount of Legendary tonics you want which all last 60 minutes How much more simple does it need to be. Crafting in games is usually done at an npc.

35 OdpowiedziHard disagree... If it was tech themed, and they called them combat and loot synths... Because that's what these are... Select'able modifiers that empower player creativity and specialization, easily balanced... easily added to. To both help focus your grind on demand for the loot you want without having to directly access a vendor or focusing hub. Multi-faceted in their implementation... you can grind with the tonics, OR grind FOR tonics and exchange them directly for loot. I do have a criticism... it needs a radial wheel. We don't have hot key bars like mmos, a radial like arpgs... the interface is clunky. And it needs another level... with the best boons requiring active debuffs on the player. Like you take 50% more dmg... BUT you get multiperked partially enhanced targeted loot. This the future, and a standard in game design.

tonics are a fantastic addition, a little boring to unlock all since you have to craft all type of tonics, but the concept of making some type of guns/ ability stronger or to drop something EXTRA just for playing the game is fantastic , i hope bungie keeps tonics and make more of them

New Raid mechanics are great. They're complicated enough to be challenging and meaningful enough to feel artistic. Out-of-game crafting systems like potion brewing bloat the game and feel like work to learn. They take time away from the fun portions of the game. They feel totally arbritary, because a menu system would work better and take less time to learn. Finally, they simply feel cheesy, like the developer is trying to trick me into immersing myself into the game. It may only be my opinion, but out-of-game mechanics simply are not fun to play.

1 OdpowiedźI haven't jumped on yet to see how the tonics work and if they're good, but in my honest opinion I'd rather they try something new than drop ornaments I won't care about, a strike I won't care about after the first run, or an activity I'll get burnt out on. The same formula they've been doing for years now has me so bored, but I've found gamers don't like change and would rather do the same thing for 10+ years.

Bungie should just sign the DNR order and pull the plug. Maybe they fired the wrong people, or not enough of them.

2 OdpowiedziAmen. It's like someone at HQ said, 'This game is too fun. Let's fix that.' My reaction is the same as to other boring things like cookie recipes or those playing cards we had for use with the seasonal activity a while back. I never learned any of it because it was time consuming and boring. I just ignored it until it eventually went away. That is exactly how I plan on dealing with these potions. I follow the prompts: go here, go there, talk to this person, listen to this message, blah blah blah. I click and then go to the next thing. It's all an annoyance that has to be dealt with before I can get back to doing what is fun.

21 OdpowiedziI disagree and the constant arm chair developers on forums aren’t changing anything we are playing. The content is made already, so the idea of them flipping a switch to cater to a percentage of players isn’t going to happen. They need to stick to whatever their vision is and accept feedback post episode to consider minor changes in the future.
