Watching politicians and social media influencers constantly misspell words is definitely cringe worthy.
What happened to education in our country?
Well not too focus on the negative, what's the last book you read or a book that simply left a good impression on you?
My last book was a fascinating book, one of the best I've read in years. It's called " dialogues with the devil" by Taylor Caldwell.

That’s a lot of words. Too bad I’m not reading them.

I have successfully read the book War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, quite a read to tackle...
This book can be hard to follow as it has name-euphemisms or what I can gander are some kind of nickname or variation of a name that a person has depending on who they are talking to who is talking to them or who they are talking about. It might be easier to understand perhaps if you yourself are Russian or from a Baltic region. Example:Mikhael, Mikho, Mishko. Now take a story and have it juggle like 20 people at once throught the whole story and have it not tell you who its following and also add at least 2 people with the same first name, on top of this go ahead and make the book extra long.
I’m proud to average 5 books of around 500 pages each a week. I don’t have a problem, you have a problem.

I've usually got several books on the go at once. Right now, I'm in a re-reading favourite authors mode. I have "With Blood Upon the Sand" by Bradley P. Beaulieu (fantasy,) "Infinity Engine" by Neal Asher (futuristic science fiction,) and I just started the epic "The Red Knight" by Miles Cameron (historical military fantasy??) I just finished the Carerra series by Tom Kratman. I'm an avid reader. My free time is usually spent with my nose in a book. My eReader has been amazing. I have almost 1k books on it, plus my large library. (Not as large as it used to be. I got tired of moving it all and thinned it down every move.)

Learning is a lost art you have computers and phones to thank....kids are programmed to learn from a screen nowadays and computers do all the heavy lifting with most things it's creating mentality inactive people who don't know how to survive without cell service...if you put an average person on a large tropical island they will starve to death surrounded by natures bounty because they can't use Google....and it's pathetic

I dont really enjoy reading because I focus on the words too much and then I end up not understanding the page I just read because I was too focused on the individual words making sense to me. I take a long time to get through a page and I end up having to re-read it so it just feels like I’m running in place and not getting anywhere

I’m quite above average in literature/vocabulary but haven’t read in a while, last thing I read was the Hagakure, which I enjoyed👍

I read all the time. I've been using my iPad for reading since covid and will have 1-3 books going at one time. I read mostly scfi and fantasy; not the same thing, and mysteries. I also read about WWII, having an interest in the history of that period. Could provide some education for some of the dumber politicians that are around these days. The last book I read that was good and unusual was a scifi mystery called Gun, With Occasional Music by Jonathan Letham.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Fives: 4/2/2025 3:01:21 AMThe last book I read was A Journey to the Center of the Earth, and I was very disappointed. It doesn’t hold up well in multiple areas and a wrote a pretty critical review of it for school. The last good book I read was Mistborn: The Final Empire. It’s not a perfect book, but it is very very good. I’ll definitely be finishing the trilogy!

Last book I read was Kafka on the shore by Haruki Murakami. It was a bit strange but overall a great read worthy of the international praise it has received

Last book I read was 'A Prayer for Owen Meany' but that was a long, long, long time ago.

The last book I read what In His Steps by Charles Sheldon, I really liked it. I don’t read much otherwise. I listened to some of the Fazbear Frights books, they were good. My favorite book is A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz. The whole trilogy is fantastic, but the first is my favorite. I think it’s what got me into all the weird unsettling stuff I love now

(casually slips in a mention of how I'm a published author. Twice published, even!) I think the last book I read was Hypnagogia by Michael F. Simpson. Fun little horror thing. I didn't like the beginning much, but it picked up after a few chapters, and was pretty fun from there. The author was able to just write page after page within the protag's head, and it was very impressive.

I just finished re-reading 'Salem's Lot' and now I'm reading 'The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.' Afterward, I'm going to read 'Command and Control' by Tom Clancy.

I am currently reading "All The Gallant Men" by and about a USS Arizona survivor from Pearl Harbor. I rarely read anything, book wise, but this one got my attention and picked it up.
