Despite the things that went wrong with Reach, Invasion was probably one of the best gametypes to be introduced in Halo IMO.
It is extremely team based and fun to play, something you'd expect in a Halo gametype. For one of the best gametypes implemented in Halo it definitely didn't get the support it needed. There were only two maps for Invasion and a third released in a DLC pack but you'd be lucky to ever see Breakpoint come up at all.
Then when 343i took over they butchered Invasion. They added half-assed and broken Forge maps into the playlist that show up more than the three maps designed specifically for Invasion. They could have added a TU Invasion gametype to at least change some stuff up but they never did. They left Invasion in the dark while they concentrated on everything else.
I enjoyed Invasion a whole lot. It is fun to play with a whole group of people and work as a team, whereas playing with randoms always leads to frustration while playing Invasion. I just wish there were more maps and more support for the damn thing.

Invasion was awesome. I really wish we were able to play as elites in 4. It worked so well in Halo 3. I miss it.
-
I loved Invasion but I couldn't stand going into the playlist half the time because of Invasion Slayer.
-
Invasion was so unique, its definitely one of the best game types in reach, like it best on the spire map
-
Lol about 1%

I was really excited to play it in the beta, but I kept getting killed by spawn-campers on the first tier of Boneyard. I'm not sure if Bungie fixed that for the final release, but my friends didn't really like invasion, so we played other gametypes instead.
-
I've always played Invasion anytime I play Reach, and was thoroughly disappointed when 343i didn't put it in Halo 4. Not surprising since 343i took away alot of content that the franchise already had and killed half of the Community. I hope Halo 5 fails and they get the message because I don't want my childhood becoming a MS cash cow.

Invasion was one of my favorite gametype!
-
I loved it. Wished it got more attention.
-
I liked it but after a few months it got annoying. People would rage quit on the other team.
-
the beta version was the best
-
I thought it was pretty cool. My friend had an idea for evolving objectives in multiplayer, and when Bungie announced Invasion, he was like, "YES!"
-
I loved it but the beta version always bugged me because it was simply one round and you couldn't pick a team. I loved how it was in the finished version though.
-
Changed the purple vs green colors so obviously I hated it.
-
I'm not sure if I did; I rarely played Invasion. I spent most of my time on Rumble Pit and Team SWAT.
-
I remember that, for a long time, Invasion was really fun to play most of the time. Then, around the time Bungie made their final transitions, my "skill" in it apparently rose incredibly and the only games I got were against professional players or people who modded/cheated/etc. so they could win more, and so it hasn't been fun since I last played it about six months ago.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Axdinosaurx: 1/6/2014 8:44:49 PMHad a blast with it. It would have been better if the maps didn't suck, Breakpoint was the only decent one. Though the "kill farming" in invasion slayer was seriously annoying. Starting as elites on Hemorrhage vs any half decent team was pretty much a instant loss because of the lopsided reinforcement bonuses. Particularly the Human sniper, Spartan Lazer, and Scorpion tank vs their covenant counterparts.
-
Invasion was an absolute train wreck. - Only one spawn point for each person - Extremely easy to get spawn killed - Terribly unbalanced - Armor Lock and shotty - Only two maps - The forged maps that were put in are garbage It had a lot of potential, but Bungie never capitalized on it and 343idiocy only butchered it more.
-
It was the only game type where you could play as an elite online (minus firefight vs. which I believe was on the playlist for a tiny bit). I miss it SOOOOOOOOOO much!
-
Yeah it was good fun. I wish that it was a bit more competitive, however. :-)
-
I loved it during Beta when Covenant plasma weapons were truly powerful for the first time since CE. At the end of the day Bungie sent it out to die by refusing to do any real balance updates.
-
There's a grand total of 101% if you add them up right now...
-
I played today and had a ton of fun. Nothing better than hearing the other team scream into their Mic's as one of your guys captures an area seconds before overtime runs out. I really hope they bring it back for Halo 5, I really do.

Betavasion 4 lyfe
-
search and destroy was the best mass effect 3 gametype ever made for battlefield 4

Edytowany przez użytkownika Mr Coco: 1/6/2014 7:42:35 PMWhen Reach went to hell, Invasion and BTB were the only things fun outside of custom games, for the most part. I liked Invasion more during the beta, and I wish Bungie/343 put some time and effort into updating it, playing around with it, and rebalancing it.

Edytowany przez użytkownika Boomdeyadah: 1/6/2014 4:35:20 AMInvasion is the best gametype in the entire franchise. All that was missing was species specific traits and better balancing for Matchmaking (lol shotty+armor lock loadout in Phase 3 on Boneyard) The forged maps 343 put it are all terribly balanced. Overgrowth and Broadcast are without a doubt the worst maps in existence. The loadouts weren't adjusted for the forged maps like they should have been so Phase 3 in all of them is mess because it's all CQC. Ofcourse that wouldn't be much of a problem if a certain weapon wasn't in a loadout. Invasion in custom games was a blast.
