"Okay, Guardians!" Brian shouted. "We can do this! Master Jal and I will take the right conflux! Clara, Dakota, Isaiah, you will take the left conflux!"
"Excuse me!" Master Jal exclaimed. "Who's the arch-warlock here?"
"Ah... Yes, forgive me..." Brian said as he backed down.
"So, what's the actual plan?" Dakota asked.
Master Jal looked around as he thought up a plan. Vex were already advancing onto the confluxes. "Uh... What Brian said. Go!" He demanded. He and Brian rushed for the right conflux, which sat atop a flight of stairs. The remaining three warlocks went left.
The Vex flooded the court again. This time, the Vex were splitting up and going two directions. It could have been easier to deal with, but being down one Guardian didn't help.
"Cover me! I'm reloading!" Isaiah shouted. Dakota spun around and covered his friend's flank.
After ten minutes, the swarm of Vex halted. Everyone was now sweating and trying to catch their breath. Those who needed to reload their weapons did, the rest just watched the environment. Now, what? Now, came a legion of these fanatical goblins!
The team of five shot at the incoming Vex, but the Templar in the back shooting was making it difficult. Dakota hid behind one of the stone pillars to catch his breath again. One of the green goblins ran around the pillar then looked at the warlock. Dakota channeled all of his energy into his hands and force pushed it off the cliff.
Soon, three confluxes formed. Now the team was in trouble. Clara and Dakota stayed at the left conflux while Isaiah ran to the center conflux. Master Jal stayed right while Brian also went center. It was a rinse and repeat. After another ten minutes, the legions returned and the confluxes were gone.
Everyone looked around. Where would the fourth conflux be? After fifteen minutes, nothing happened. No new confluxes, no more Vex, the Templar didn't do anything.
A bright flash of Light stunned the team. They all looked to see Daniels back on his feet. "What did I miss?" He asked.
"Nothing much," Isaiah replied.
There was a chime; a lovely chime. There was another, just as beautiful. Another. Another. And another! The team looked all around them to see bright stars surrounding them. They were beautiful! But looks are deceiving.
"I read about these once... An old transcript of Kabr's last words..." Master Jal felt weak as he spoke. "The oracles of the Vex..."
The chimes went silent! The room was dark once again. The team of six split up and ran to different locations around the stone court. Soon, the chasm echoed once again with unforgettable chime of the oracles!
"I got one!" Brian shouted as he reloaded his weapon.
"Second one down!" Isaiah yelled.
"I got one!" Daniels yelled before hiding from sniper fire. "Hey, could you take these guys out?!" The hunter shouted to Dakota.
"Let me take out this oracle!..." Dakota ran out of bullets in his weapon, so as a last resort, he jabbed the bayonet into the Vex device. Dakota switched to a sniper rifle, then scoped up on the hobgoblins. Pow!... Pow!... Pow! Pow! Pow! The warlock destroyed five Vex in mere seconds of getting his sniper rifle out.
Master Jal jumped into the air and cast a nova bomb at one oracle, then ran down some steps to destroy a second one. "I think that's all of them..." the arch-warlock said with a breath.
Everyone took a breath, but almost simultaneously, a thought popped up in the teams' heads. The legions! Everyone ran to the center, but there was nothing there. Just the Templar, but it just sat on its perch. "Why is it just staring at us?" Daniels asked.
"I have no idea..." Master Jal replied.
The chimes were back! The oracles were back! "Places, people!" Dakota yelled as he ran to destroy an oracle.
The team destroyed all of the oracles. Then, a third wave spawned in. Another, and another! Everyone was beat. They couldn't keep this up any longer; running to and fro.
Brian looked to the center of the court. He got back to his feet and cocked his head in confusion. "Where's... the hydra?"
Master Jal was shocked. It just fanished! However, as strangely as the Templar vanished, a new object appeared. A shield bathed in Light was in the bottom of the court. The arch-warlock walked down and put his arm through the straps of the shield. It was made from Vex parts, but it was imbued with Light.
Suddenly, the Templar returned!
