As time passes on, it is only inevitable that Caedis Fraternitatem will grow as it clutches up guardians to forge its place in the annals of history. While Caedis Fraternitatem will continue to grow larger and stronger, it is also a reality that it will grow more distant from its beginnings. This story, about how this brotherhood was formed, is one that few guardians, and members, truly know. I invite you to open your mind and take out your pencils, because class is in session. As so many stories go, we begin with a single guardian. [b]The year:[/b] 2014. [b]The place:[/b] Earth’s final safe haven... The tower. In a time where level truly mattered, and farming still existed, stood a young level 24 guardian named [i]thadbone[/i]. With companion in toe, they set out to explore more about a place named the Vault of Glass. After constant rejection by fellow guardians for being "Too low of a level," and receiving messages such as "Raid - No Thad," compassion was found in an unlikely place...The tower. Notorious for its ignored requests the duo found acceptance by a guardian named [i]x305xCuban[/i], and his fire team of four. The group set out to defeat Atheon, but fell short of the task. They reached the Gatekeeper. Yet, in their shortcomings, a bond was formed. As time passed on, it became inevitable that formal organization was needed. And so, when the timing was right, a clan was born. Forged of both light and darkness, it had but one goal... To destroy. [b]THE END.[/b] Actually, that was just an attempt by a tired historian to stop writing. The clan that was formed on that day is not the same Caedis Fraternitatem that we know today. On that day, Ascendant Energy was born. It is why we still bear the mark of [AE] for our clan ID. It is a tribute and homage to our simple beginnings. [b][u]Chapter Two: The change of a name. . .[/u][/b] Change is an inevitable part of life, and no group or person is immune. As Ascendant Energy grew, it became clear that the name itself was not a true representation of who we had become. And so the search for a new, more descriptive, name began. The conceptualization of our name was much deeper and complex than any of us could imagine. On paper, it sounds cool... [i]Caedis Fraternitatem[/i]. In reality, it is a true representation of who we are as a group. Its latin translation is that of Murderous Brotherhood. Understandably, this new-found knowledge for some will leave more questions than answers about our group. So, allow me to answer them. [b]Why Latin?[/b] Easy answer... Everything in Latin sounds awesome! [b]Why Murderous Brotherhood?[/b] I invite you to take a coffee break or grab something to eat, because here is where the complexity begins. In a world beyond the digital walls we spend so much time together in, despair, tyranny, and terrorism still exist. Around the time of our clan progression into a new era, [i]Paris, France [/i]had recently found itself attacked by extremists. Witnessed from this destruction and horror was something all too familiar by the American Members of this organization; Resilience. Similar to response of the Boston Marathon bombing, and attacks on the Trade Towers in NYC, as well as other acts of terror performed on American Soil, was a response by the French to unify. There was a gathering by the French around [i]The Statue of Republic by Léopold Morice (1880)[/i], on the Place de la République, Paris. On the base of the statue is an inscription that translates into: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. It was easy to see that, albeit for different causes, the unity demonstrated by resilience was identical to the unity we have forged through our journey. The only difference: [i]The cause[/i]. It became clear that we didn't just have a group of gamers that liked to play together, we had a Fraternity... A true brotherhood that spans multiple nations. The name Caedis Fraternitatem is not just a phrase that translates into Murderous Brotherhood, It is a symbol for who we are to each other; united by our common cause. [b]CLASS DISMISSED. [/b]
