So Xur's here. And I see that he can "Upgrade Exotics" which is pretty sweet. My Thorn was pretty much upgraded, had about two more upgrades to go. So I used about 7000 glimmer and an Exotic Shard (Which costs 7 Strange Coins). Which I thought was reasonable. And all it did was reset my Thorn. So not only did I waste my Exotic Shard and Glimmer, but also my time and effort upgrading it, as well as the materials I used leveling it up. If there's anything you could do to help or give me something to compensate my loss with, or at least change the title to something not misleading (eg: Upgrade old/original Exotics) Instead of: Upgrade Exotics. So others don't run into the same problem I have just encountered. I'm sure I'm not the first.

You should have done a stat compare. You would have seen that it does not increase the max damage of your weapon. You have to start over upgrading the weapon. Sorry for your misfortune. Don't do it again

Just to let you know, Xûr's upgrade system will be removed when House of Wolves will be activated.

This should explain your common mistake. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/111645853/0/0

The xur upgrades are for exotics received before The Dark Below dlc. Those weapons had a max attack of 300. The upgrade wipes all progression. If you got the weapon after the dlc was released, you wasted a shard. You'll need to relevel the weapon with xp and use one exotic shard for the last node.

Wow, people are still making this mistake? Can't get mad at something that got explained way before it arrived, has countless people doing then ...Whuuuuutttt???!!! Like Biggie Smalls said "Węłł įf ÿä døñt kñøw, ñøw ÿå kñôw, ñį**ã!"...

You are an idiot for doing that your fault no one else's git gud scrub

No you are not the first, and just like you, someone else will try to upgrade their 331 attack weapon. They will post about it, never having searched the forums or the Internet for Xurs upgrades. Thus your post will be just as ineffective as all the guides and warnings already lost in the corners of cyber space that you didn't read.

Assumption Strikes Again!!! Try reading details next time!!
