No video, but earlier today I was running the raid with a good group of friends. Everything was cool until we got to The Daughters. We ran through it really smoothly despite the problem. Here was the problem: one of my friends decided to stream it. And he had about 70 something people watching it at the time. Now here's the big kicker, his voice sounds like a 12 year old amped on sugar, and everyone began making fun of him about it. Some people started telling him that he'd never beat the raid, that he's trash and he should go back to bed, and pretty much any bad insult you could imagine. This made a lot of us angry. Our fireteam leader (name withheld in case of moderator attacks) started encouraging him. He kept him in the zone, made sure he ignored those guys and that he was calm. Now, here's one thing to consider: he's autistic. So he isn't very good in these situations. And no one in the chat knew that and they just kept being overall (pardon my language) dicks. And whenever he got worked up, he got really emotional and overreacted about every little thing. (Not in the angry kind of way, but in the more fearing scheme of things). We made him turn off the stream, and just kept going. But for that time, he didn't break, and he did fine. He calmed down, and he didn't give up. We never beat oryx, but we plan to kick him in the rear tomorrow.
TL;DR
Our autistic friend was getting cyberbullied on stream, and we helped him through it.
Please don't leave any hateful comments. Thanks in advance.
Editado por shock: 10/18/2015 10:36:39 PMLeave positive comments please. Maybe something encouraging. Give him something good to see tomorrow. Edit 1: Simply to get one thing clear, we do not plan on streaming when we go back at oryx. We're just gonna do it in private and get it done. Edit 2: Bit late but we completed it a couple hours ago. Thanks for all the good words!

Why is a 12 year old streaming? And on that matter, cyber bullying doesn't exist. You can close the computer, turn off the console, block users, mute people, stop the stream...there are so many countermeasures, if you get cyber bullied that's on you, because you didn't want to be the bigger man and block the person.

As I have aged, I've learned to avoid certain situations. People being cruel to others is never ok, but it is inevitable, especially in an anonymous setting. I would urge your friend to either grow thicker skin, or avoid streaming if he can't handle the type of degenerates who are known to frequent twitch. Him being autistic doesn't change the fact that there are bad, immature people out there. Coming here and trying to appeal to the same community that contains the jerks you're lamenting won't change anything I've said. Best of luck. I'm glad you guys were able to beat Oryx.

Bullying is wrong but just stop streaming. Aren't there enough streamers out there as is? They screw up the internet of anyone around them too its shit.
-
Have your friend block those people or don't stream. Hate to see the bullying but when you put yourself out there, it's hard to stop ignorant people. Also tell him to not watch the chat. I ignore mine when I stream.

F*** those people. Those people need to make others feel bad to make themselves feel better which is pathetic. They lack self esteem. Personally I have a really huge **** that gives me all the self esteem in the world which is why I'm such a pleasant mother f***er on the Internet. Have a good day everyone.

What you did man was cool. Good work. Tell your friend, he did a great job too. Keep it up man :)

Don't let anyone ruin your dreams. If they try to, give them some tampons.

Bullies are everywhere. Honestly, even more so now because they can hind behind a phone or computer and type their hatred. Long gone are the days where you were actually confronted with a bully, yes, it does still happen but not as often. You have to take what people say as a grain of salt. There will always be someone saying inappropriate comments, especially if you're on the Internet. Know your audience before you stream. I understand you want to stick up for your friend but in order to fix the problem he should be dealing with it himself. Not a friend posting a plea for support. Autism sucks but it can be managed. Something he must come to learn.

Reading through the comments make me realize how pathetic and cancerous people are nowadays. If only your parents had spines and taught you how to not be a piece of shit.
-
How is this any different than stand-up comedians who get heckled ? Fun fact: it isnt
-
Your friend better grow some thick skin because he will be chewed up and spit out otherwise.
-
I think you just described shesmynerd. Did oryx final round him?
-
Don't stream??
-
Yeah. If you don't think you can handle insults just don't stream. People can be dicks sometimes
-
Hey great job at putting a guy with a disability in the line of fire.
-
Wait the kid was streaming and the people in the chat were being dicks. That's no good
-

BUT ... FFS ... any person would know this was going to happen on TWITCH... what is he trying to proof by streaming ???? Next time use your brain and dont let him stream with his voice on !
-
Then he shouldn't stream that's all.
