Are people who claim to be "Otakus" all Weeaboos?
I've been seeing many people online lately who are [i]very clearly[/i] weebs, but always claim to be an otaku. It's really quite annoying to find these people, because they have no idea what they're doing and are annoying almost everyone.

2 RespostasA weeaboo is a non japanese person who basically denounces their own culture and calls themselves japanese. They try to learn japanese through the anime they watch and usually end up pronouncing it wrong and looking like a complete idiot. KEEP IN MIND: that a non-japanese person can like the culture, watch anime, speak the language and RESPECT THE CULTURE, while still keeping in touch with there own.

4 RespostasWell, the very definition of otaku is not the same as weeaboo. Otaku is a literal Japanese word that's basically their version of 'nerd'. So, is there a difference between a nerd and a weeaboo? Yes. So there's your answer.

Otaku (おたく/オタク ?) is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom. Its contemporary usage originated with Akio Nakamori's 1983 essay in Manga Burikko.
