Two things first. I'm typing this on my phone so excuse typos, and I am an athiest. More importantly I'm an atheist because I'm a skeptic. I do not believe in anything supernatural.
That said, I will now try to reason that the supernatural not only exists, but would be a necessity given a certain premise.
Premise: That we live in a simulated universe. Not a real one. Watch video for premise.
Now. If this is true then we would be merely a simulation. Played out from a computer. This simulation could have started anywhere, and in any time line. It could even be running multiple instances of the simulation in separate time lines at the same time.
This makes it easy to ration that when people observe the supernatural they are observing one of several possibilities.
1. That if seeing a ghost for example you are actually seeing content not completely wiped from the exact same spot on the memory device that you now currently inhabit. Sort of like a double exposure on old camera film.
Or
2. That a glitch has occurred in the system, and two separate instances of the simulation are currently interfering with one another. Temporarily causing them to effect each others "realities"
I'm sure endless possibilities could be raised, but these are the two that immediately made the most sense to me.
In real life I have heard an audio recording of a civil war battle. You'd be amazed what several hundred single shot rifles sound like when being fired at will. And no, I'm not making this part up. I can point you to the guy with the recording. Recorded in the middle of the night at an old battle ground here in North Carolina.
Even having heard this recording I still do not believe in the supernatural. I only lack the ability to explain it naturally at the present time.
Simulation theory is a definite possible explanation. Simple as a small bit of data clinging onto a piece of a hard drive.
So, my fellow skeptics out there. Rip this apart. Or, play devils advocate yourself.
Edit: addendum... Also entirely possible that a future computer could run an entire time line in an instant. So like the proton test from the video, we would exist as a "conscience" observation of our present reality in a simulation that has all possible realities as a probability wave. Meaning we only need partially observe any other probability to observe something "supernatural".

Man it has been a while since I found such an interesting thread
thanks for the read!
Editado por f3: 3/23/2016 5:01:19 PMJesus was a ghost !
lol mr. god is the computer bite me
so if its a computer program, is someone controlling it?

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/193240985/0/0and proof of "God" for you atheists who realize atheism makes no sense lol

A video recording or an audio recording?
-
The recording of the Civil War thing, what's it sound like? Plz tell me.

I have a theory. Maybe, we're all some other beings in a different world with our minds in a computer simulation. Sort of like a dream. We think it's real, it all feels real. And ghosts are created whenever people leave the simulation, or attempt to, and some of them is left behind in the computer. I don't know what to believe right now. Are we a computer simulation? In reality and there's nothing after death? Etc. Don't try to convert me over to some religion. I want my beliefs to come from me, not from someone else. If I do go to religion, I want it to be because I chose to

well apparently (i vaguely remember this from a documentary from like 4 years ago so some details could be wrong) within about 100 years we apparently will have home computers powerful enough to simulate a copy of earth so perfect the inhabitants of the simulated earth will be unaware that they are simulated so in theory we could be simulated in someone's video game or a class room presentation by people who have already made it to 100 years in the future and who are simulating 100 years in the past

I guess there's no way to disprove this claim, It's an interesting thought, and an altogether terrifying one. The thought that at any moment the simulation could be drastically changed or even shut down is a terrifying one. Much like the multiverse theory, this one seems appealing at first glance but once you dig deeper you see how truly terrifying it is.
-
As well, if you have ever had the feeling you are being watched, turned around, and seen someone watching you, then this makes sense, because if you are part of a simulation, then your programming is aware of everything going on in other parts of the simulation.
-
Many scientists have speculated this, and used deja vu(accents left out, I forget them XD) as an example of a possible "glitch."

An interesting theory, worthy of a book setting. I'd always thought that if the supernatural could be real, the experiences derived from it could have something to do with time itself. What about time could cause it? I'm not sure, but like what you brought up, it's only a theory, not an oath.

So many words you must be right.

I haven't fully read the thread yet and my reply isn't ready. I'm just bumping this because I can see you put some good effort into this post and I want to survive. Maybe add some hashtags to this so it can be retrieved later.
