Wait what?
Yep you're reading that right, instead of doing the typical price drop that's expected to eventually come with consoles and games after release Sony has instead opted to raise the price of their console instead by $50 and the price of games by $5.
Now Sony is saying that this is due to a "market change" (even though the Canadian dollar is worth roughly the same as the USD) however I won't be so quick to believe them considering Activision said the same thing with the price hike trial run they ran in the UK. Which if you live in the UK you know how that turned out, people still bought COD at an inflated price which sent the message to other publishers that you could raise the price of games in the UK and not see any negative consequence.

If the price is cheaper still in the us i suggest have to wait longer but order ps4 or games from them.but also depends on post and packaging once products are bought if comes to same as candian version then dont bother.unless buy in bulk not ideal really tbh

Well, that's not good. :/

sucks for us man. i told all my friends who want a ps4 to get it soon, but when i read when the change is taking place, i realized it was today. still though maybe some retailers are selling it lower. one can hope.

Didn't the value of CAD drop not too long ago though?

*sigh* -blam!-ing activision. The absolute most I've ever payed for a game has been £35, with the special exception of BF4 on the PS4 which was £40 at launch. I'm putting off titanfall and south park SOT until they both drop below £30, I'll probably be getting south park soon though, since the disc and digital versions are now £27 each.

That is dumb.
