So I've played a fair amount of Crucible thus far, being halfway to crucible rank 6 with my Hunter. In doing this, I've really narrowed down how I like to play, and in the past month I've been perfecting my craft. To my surprise, my current set of armor for Crucible does not involve any exotics. With the way I like to play, i simply don't need an exotic, as I'm better suited without one. In the past week I've been thinking, "What if I could create an exotic piece?"
Before I dive into it, my three most vital assets/ tools to my survival are as follows:
- The Last Word
- Throwing Knives X2
- Tripmine Grenade
On a side note, I was fortunate enough to receive my Last Word from the VoG raid chest in mid October. I say this not to separate myself from those who bought theirs from Xur, but to state that I've had a solid 2 months worth of time to perfect my use with the weapon.
So knives are a big part of executing a kill for me, often times I'll get one shot off, and then throw a knife for the kill. This has proved to be especially useful against opponents who use shotguns. The Exotic piece I've dreamed about aids hunters who choose to use knives. Lets see what it is, sha'll we?
Exotic Hunter Gauntlet: Knife to Meet You!
How about we get straight to the point?
+130/148 Strength
Perks
1) Causing Damage with a grenade restores Melee energy.
2) Killing an opponent with a head shot increases reload speed for a short time. (4 seconds)
3) Knives are thrown faster and farther, direct kills with a knife restore Melee energy.
The first two perks are self explanatory, so lets go ahead and skip to the fun one. Here's the breakdown
"Knives are thrown faster and farther"
- The time between throwing two knives would be reduced by 35%, allowing the user to throw two knives in quick succession, faster than someone who wouldn't be wearing the exotic.
- Knife velocity increased by 25%
- Knives travel 20% farther before the drop off curve begins.
- The drop off curve for knives is less steep; drop off animation curve length increased by 30%
"Direct kills with a knife restore melee energy"
- The key word here is 'direct', this perk would apply when the impact of the knife results in killing the victim.
- Burn damage from incendiary knives would not trigger this part of the perk.
- The amount of energy restored would be 30%
So that's pretty much it, I'm interested to hear what you guys think, and whether or not you'd change certain parts of the perk, or the whole perk itself. Remember, the focus is knives. I've tried to keep this armor piece balanced and not over the top lol. Originally, I was thinking about having the second perk be increased melee attack speed, but I thought that might be over powered. Curious to hear which one of the two you'd prefer. Thanks for reading Guardian :)

Editado por John6Max4: 12/18/2014 4:11:45 AMPretty good but not so useful for PvE. Knives are equally good for both PvP and PvE so the exotic should compliment both. Maybe a cool exotic effect would be "enemies are blinded for a short time when hit with throwing knife". Also your effects can already be chosen on skill screen. The exotics can give you that skill maybe? Along with the blind effect? Exotic hunter gauntlets - Shock and Gnaw "this is your jungle and there's a lot of prey out there"
